At least there's nothing to be blamed on dodgy refereeing, the VA or dirty play from the opposition team.

Congrats to Newcastle.  Their fans have endured miserable season after miserable season. Great team...obvious from the start or this season.. Great coach.  Well deserved win.

They deserved the win (and should have won by more). Saying that we did not offer any opposition and even the Nix would have trashed us tonight.

I was hoping our season would end by xmas this slow death stuff gets to me and CCM last week proved to be no more than a death twitch. Wow we really have problems and an unfurled masterplan is being kept from us mere mortals who couldn't ever understand this apparently forward moving project.

The players telling the coach what they want. When has that ever worked?

Once a manager has “lost the dressing room” they very rarely come back.

Alex Ferguson’s probably in a nursing home telling his assistant manager the toaster about the days of old

Popa walked out and it was his choice to do so but he recruited the players, they are his pick.I agree Gombau may not be the answer.I don't know who is.

Hopefully some of those players voicing their disagreement with the Gombau way will pack their bags during the transfer window and we will see what Gombau will be able to do with his own picks.

End on a positive, no pun intended. We are not on performing enhancing drugs. Close thread.

Well another positive is that a lot of you guys haven't lost your sense of humour!

Love that about being here in these otherwise depressing times!  :hi:

Appearantly there is a guy available called Popa

After he pissed off from the club a week before the season started? Then got sacked from his next club because he sent a team to the bottom of the table by losing 6 games in a row.

It's not looking likely but I really hope gombau gets a chance to build his own team.

You can't be serious.  The rubbish we are seeing at the moment can't all be laid at the feet of a coach whose only crime seems to be that he wants our team to play a better brand of football., and you are wanting the return of the person who recruited these players who are unable to deliver.

The only two players that showed some effort were Llorente and Santa, the rest all bad, but Vedran and Roly get a special mention.....they were really really bad.

Let's face it. With Popa we would have been a lot more competitive. But they still would have been dire to watch. Guys like Cornthwaite, Baccus and Jumpei won't win us titles.

Although now we know why Popa made players train on their own when he didn't want them at the club. Players are quick to revolt when it gets all too hard for them.
