Another reason to dislike them, as if that was needed

3-5 years, depending on good behaviour.

Seems either he or his manager are a delusional dickhead. I'm willing to bet it's both of them.

Maybe his agent gets a bonus for every new contract.

De Silva what? 27 now. For me I think he rolled the dice to see if he could go overseas. Only to realise A-league is his level, its passed him by and he stats are ok at best. They aren't the level a Niewenhoff was doing or Max Ballard with Mariners.

He always looks good against us....

Then again you could say that about Jason Hoffman

Hoffman, De Silva, Anthony Golec this a group I like to call the Clisby zone. Not good enough to get a move overseas, average in the A-league but seems to be the answer to a position if clubs can't fill the position with a visa player

I'd put De Silva in a higher zone. He's in the good Local A League player but not good enough to play overseas (had their chance) zone along with the likes of Iconomidis, Brillante (pre-getting to slow), Bratten etc.

Hoffman, Golec and Clisby are in the Generic Garden Variety A League player along with a decent chunk of the league

My Bell(end) curve view

5%:       Developing Star - Enjoy em while you can they will be off overseas somewhere decent soon e.g. Irakunda / Younis / Milanovic

15%:      Very Good A League Player - Probably Good Enough to Go Oversaes and play in a BL2 or Asia e.g. Borello,

15%:      Strong A Leage Player better than most - but either tried and failed overseas or not quite there   e.g. Da Silva, Bratten. iKonomidis..

40%:     Generic A League Player - Solid enough   e.g. Clisby,

20%     Likely you will see playing for Bentliegh Greens or Blacktown CIty next Australia Cup Players

My HIghlights from article:

"...The club alleged Yorke, who had been in charge of the Bulls for only 13 games, had referred to his side as a “pub team” and said Macarthur was “f---ing hopeless from the top to the bottom” before allegedly kicking camera equipment, according to the judgment obtained by this masthead.

“I can’t believe I came here for this. I destroyed my reputation for this **** club, this **** league,” Yorke allegedly said in the address,

Would have been made better if the judget had said, "I see no issue here, they are a **** club"

They pretty much said exactly that.

Quote

“The panel has concluded that the conduct of the coach in the dressing room on 20 January 2023 as publicly reported did not lower the reputation of the club to a significant extent,” the judgment said. “Indeed, there is scant, if any, evidence to suggest that the club’s reputation was lowered at all."

So they ruled that the media reported that the head coach called the club a "pub team" and “f---ing hopeless from the top to the bottom”, but their club had such a bad reputation that these media reports did not lower that reputation.

Lmao that's what they said in the court. By Yorke winning the court case the basically said the Macarthur was already crap. Yorke saying this didn't move the dial. "It was Fact"

Macarthur just wanted to punt him for free and used the rant as an excuse. Sports clubs and their contracts get some pretty significant departures from typical employment contracts in order to maintain integrity of the competition and having to pay out contracts even after poor performance is one of the things they have to do or the entire system gets torn to pieces. They should have known better, imagine if the law went "it's okay to fire anyone for any reason".. guess what happens to the players, they get to quit and move clubs at any time with no compensation or transfer fees or notice.

Gets even better. They put 27.12.2020 in the collar to commemorate their first match. Problem is that was the covid season and the game got rescheduled to the 30th.
