Legionista Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 The FFA has decided to play the long game on this, and it might work. The anger is raw and we'll see if we are disciplined enough to do what it takes in terms of boycotts. It is beyond disappointing to say the least. The very least. The FFA's reluctance to defend the game and the supporters in order to appease Rebecca Wilson and co shows how far the game has to go. They are so petrified that they would risk another generation in this country turning its back on the game.
matty Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 (edited) I look forward to games more than anything on my calendar (tragic, I know). I've missed one home game since day one. Living a kilometre from the stadium makes this even harder but a message needs to be sent. Short term, I miss a game, long term, this is part of what can turn football around in Australia. This foundation member is boycotting. Edited December 1, 2015 by matty
SAF Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 http://www.fiveaa.com.au/fiveaa/shows/rowey-and-bicks Simon Hill for new A League boss... I second that. Simon Hill your a legend
GD07 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 From some people's posts on the various social media outlets the RBB is a performance troupe that is only there for their enjoyment.
TheDugong Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I had taken annual leave to go to the game but now the Mrs and I will not be in attendance. Sad but necessary.

DontCallMeJacko Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I had taken annual leave to go to the game but now the Mrs and I will not be in attendance. Sad but necessary. Please still come to Parramatta. Be it the Collector, Woolpack, Bavarian, or elsewhere.... We're all in this together.
IronHaggis Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Looks like Rebecca Wilson wins. Releases the list to give football a bad name. Fans turn on the FFA and boycott matches. A League loses appeal to the casual audience. Sponsorship and TV money will decrease and have a long term affect.
DamnedUnited Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 This foundation member from 56 and three other 56ers will be boycotting. Would be great for the RBB to have a pre match presence outside North Terrace entrance to encourage others to boycott. Then on to The Collector I would hope. The following week I would hope we and MV organize a collective response. The summer of discontent continues. Aaahh remember the days when this was a pro and anti pyro issue. Simples days those simples.

Never before has football supporters banded together and shown the world that no longer will we sit there and cop sh*t thrown at us. After all this is said and done, football will have never been stronger in this country.
TheDugong Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 On an amusing note, it will be interesting on Saturday when instead of the RBB the north terrace will consist of approx 100 riot police glaring at the players. Sure to intimidate visiting players just as much, our boys would be used to it by now. Without the RBB present it will make them stick out like a sore thumb on the TV and will show just how ridiculously over policed we are.

If football people take charge of the games destiny, then it will truly thrive. It's the short term where there will be pain.
smp Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 You'll never get an empty stadium, but you can achieve a silent one. I'll be there (for personal reasons I will not go into), but I support those boycotting, and I won't be joining in on any chants that will inevitably break out. Social media chatter might lead you to think that anyone who goes is hostile to the cause, but that isn't true. The sheer number of RBB tickets traded on Facebook means that the north terrace won't be empty, but anyone there will be a passenger. Hopefully they quickly work out what's going on.

I think that's wishful thinking tbh. Who knows? Maybe the club will swing open the gates......

DamnedUnited Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Gallop's comments on anti social behavior make me wonder why the FFA don't just prosecute alleged criminal activity through a court of law as would normally be the case. And the claim our actions in boycotting are hurting the game or playing into our enemies hands misses the fact that we are sacrificing for the greater good rather than be driven out in silence as has for years been the case. Resistance is futile is a cowardly chorus.
Guest mickisnot Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 From some people's posts on the various social media outlets the RBB is a performance troupe that is only there for their enjoyment. This attitude has been evident from season one. I don't want to name names, I've pm'd various people over the years on this website to clarify their views. I'd like to see if I'm dealing with a level headed individual. Every time it's the same thing. They're level headed but their entitlement is through the roof. They don't understand that the RBB is a collection of individuals. It's the same stereotyping that the media play but from some other world. They simply can't take the good with the bad in life. What shits me is these same people will turn around and say that the active support at Socceroos games is abysmal etc. Entitled ****s the lot of them

Its also probably important to say, if you are boycotting don't sell/Wanderers reward/gift your ticket. It defeats the purpose of your seat being boycotted.

I'll be there to support the team and I'll sing if I want". Of course it's RBB songs that they'll be singing.

Taking the message inside the ground with the live TV audience will do more.

btron3000 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 (edited) Whether or not you think that boycotting is a better idea than walkouts etc, it is irrelevant now. The RBB have taken a stance and so that will be the stance taken by those that agree something needs to be done. Hopefully people sitting in the stands can pass on the word before this weekend to anyone else they know that sits in the stands. If it's more than just the RBB it is a stronger message. WestSyd Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Gallop is too stubborn to give in to the demands. I just don't see anything changing at all until there is someone new in there who doesn't have that baggage and is willing to change the system and give those who were wronged a fair hearing. That bit about doing community service to reduce the ban was an absolute joke and shows that they are willing to make things up on the run to appease people. I bet you that idea was given to him by the police as well. I mean if you think you are innocent why would you do it.
DinoPresinger Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 If anyone is considering going to the game (wrong option the pub will be more fun anyway) at least bring in banners and signs urging the FFA to implement an appeals process. Remember that the players support the RBBs decision and that it is not only the RBBs decision. It is also that of almost all the active support groups.

tardotz Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 So will your ban be overturned if you have evidence that you didn't do it but don't show it to the FFA due to confidentiality purposes?
