Just because they’re boycotting the finals doesn’t make them Kopites.

It's text book Kopite behaviour!

If the grand final is against us they'll show up.

They will make a big noise, then take the moral high ground, some how say if the RBB are going then we will have to go, you watch they will have their cake and eat it too.

Classic Kopite behaviour, you know I'm right

Kopites haven’t boycotted since The S*n, Kopites protest at the injustice! And you should’ve known that by now:xnod:

Cove’s official statement

Posted

They're taking a strong stand against the moving of grand finals to the highest ranked team to Sydney by agreeing not to boycott a grand final where it was moved from the highest ranked team to Sydney and a finals boycott where they don't boycott a finals game this weekend.

If any other active support released such a nonsense, wishy washy statement they'd be getting slated on social media/reddit etc.

For the women's finals, following the advice of those most informed within our membership base on the state of the women's game, we feel as though they are being made collateral damage in a decision they had very little control over.

So the men's teams aren't collateral damage and did have control over this decision?

Still feels like they don't want to miss the women's finals because they might win something, but are big enough to not watch the men's team lose in the first week of the finals.

I think the Cove are alleging is that any boycott of WLeague will result in Paramount refusing to stream matches

How credible those allegations are who knows :unknw:

If the contract between the APL and Paramount is so bad that it allows Paramount to unilaterally cancel streams of finals matches if active groups choose to boycott then the APL in more incompetent than we thought. Not just for the terrible contract, but for making a decision that would inevitably lead to active groups choosing to boycott.

Also if the Cove really cared they wouldn't give the APL an out by turning up to the women's game. Surely the boycott would be most effective if Danny T had to front up and explain why nobody could watch it.

It's nonsense. Just an excuse to justify boycotting one but not the other.

Watch them excuse themselves for going to the W-League grand final if they make it by saying that they finished 1st on the ladder so they are "hosting on merit" even though the finals format is that the winner of the Grand Final qualifier last week was Western United which means WU would have won the hosting rights.

They'll make the finals though. Possibly against us or CCM. And won't go. Props to them I reckon.

Although they haven't been starved of success so it's less of a big deal.

And they do boycott their away games against us regularly anyway.

Looked like many of them boycotted last week's game as well

No but clips come up in my YouTube feed. As following some of the links (from some others) has messed up the YouTube AI profile of me. I think it now seems me as some sort extreme bi-polar

I get them in my YouTube 'news' feed too but I discipline myself not to look.

Dunno what you all thought about Smurfs win over Roar last night but I thought they were pretty average they had their 15 minutes of fame mid first half and got a goal , Roar dominated greater parts of the first half and most of the second half me thinks if you set up your defence to to stop Lilly and Mac cutting inside and shooting , herd them to the our side and their crosses are ineffective , we should not be worried by them and our central attacking team will cut Rodwell and his old mate apart

Stop Burgess and Brattan and they are dead in the water.

Mak went off with a hamstring injury. Segacic is pretty good not at his standard.

I saw the game but was obviously watching a different game to Harper and his mate, who believe everyone should beware of SFC...

I agree with above. They have some good players but it comes and goes. Burgess was ordinary last night, as was Brattan.  If Roar could shoot, they'd have won the game...

Wasn't Joel King totally outplayed in last Sydney Derby?

Wasn't Redmayne left stranded as well?

Didn't our boys overrun their midfield as well?

I know they missed Burgess and Le Fondre but we should not be fearing another match with them, especially if they are Cove-less

The game will be at Parramatta; remind me of our record against them at Parramatta this season.

They don't have depth and therefore susceptible to injuries...

It doesn't really matter in the finals (as long as you don't get injuries)

Even when Sydney were good they didn't have depth. Arnie stacked his squad with strong first XI a player like carney who can cover multiple positions and then kids to fill the squad.

Hence they did nothing in Asia but managed to be successful flin final series

We have a far better team than them. We should tonk them like last derby. But if we go 1-0 down it's hard to get back they will play all behind the ball and waste time.

Like last derby at Parramatta. poor Redmayne managed to complete the game despite having some strange injury that prevented him from taking goal kicks in under 6 minutes

Joel King and Cabballo on that left side have been getting killed every game I have watched so far. If we were to play them you can see Layouni and I would say Simmons on that right side would again kill them.

Lolley is the main threat from the Smurfs and Mak to a lesser extent. But that defense shouldn't cause anyone in the top 4 any problems.
