    • The organised crime groups that do this target players who have issues in their lives making them vulnerable to kind sort of thing. Financial troubles, drug problems, etc. Also with Davila being Mexican and the group being based in South America I wonder whether they had any leverage back home.
    • Yep. I tend to think that also Garang Kuol and Irakunda have gone too early.......like Arzani did. I feel these guys would be better served if they had one or two full senior seasons where they are starters and play 90 min than cameos off the bench or play 60 min or less.
    • Grant Brebner got done for betting. So did craig moore and muscat. Brebner copped it worse because he bet on victory losing whilst he was a player there. That poor bloke ruined himself financially. He confessed to losing more than 100,000 pounds. But if theres one thing I know about gambling addicts, they will never tell the truth about their true losses. Guys like Grant need help and support from families and their clubs. These three on the other hand took cash payments from organised crime to fix betting outcomes. Pure greed. I suspect the only thing that will keep Davila out of jail is the fact he is the sole carer for his toddler. Consorting with international crime syndicates is no joke, NSWPF are going to line up a pretty fat list of charges against him. From initial reports its seems Baccus and Lewis never communicated with them, might save their arses. However what they did contravenes the Crimes Act (193Q(1)) Corrupt Conduct, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail. To compare.... Assault occasioning actual bodily harm (S59) carries a maximum sentence of just 7 years.  They're in serious **** if they don't play this right. Best outcome is they get a section 10 bond with 2 years good behaviour.
