Yeah thought he added something, was really unlucky with hit shot that hit the post.

I'm not convinced yet.

IMO, he's just another fill in that Babbel will want to move on if Lederer is prepared to open his wallet.

He's on a three year deal. If I were in his position I wouldn't leave without a job already lined up and full payout from WSW. He just turned 21, an age where generally speaking, clubs will look at the player and think "can we just use a backup from our youth/NPL side" instead. Depending on what interest he had before joining WSW he might not be confident that he'd get another shot at an A-League club and that might result in him refusing to leave without a mutual payout over his contract value (because a payout counts in the salary cap unless it's mutual).

Of course, maybe next year or the year after the squad & salary cap goes away and there's no real issue keeping him around until his contract expires.

Great option off the bench, the boy has talent.

Think he means he will be seeing first team action in the short term anyway 

he seemed to complement the team well - bit of variety panache if you will... mahazi is basically the same as baccus so this guy gives us a different look 

As long as he keeps on this upwards trajectory it's looking good for him - and for us to yell 'ya didn't want him' when we play Adelaide.

You can tell a lot from the murmurings of other fans when their club lets players go and from what I read - the reds fans were less than pleased about him not being part of their squad anymore.

That was a different level performance from JOD against #NixOut.

I haven't seen him play at anything like that level, at any time, during the pre-season.

Keanu was also very solid, didn't lose a challenge all game. 

Whenever KB has a partner such as Grozos & now potentially JOD, who can find space to receive passes we'll hold our own in midfield.

...the boy has talent. Babbel will squeeze the potential out of these boys. Also doesn't hurt that he's an 8 playing behind the best 10 in the league.

Isn’t it weird when you have a counter and you’re glad when you see the guy bearing down on the goalie is the kid? Never thought he’d miss for a second.

After his curling shot against Sydney it was clear he’s got talent. Most A-League midfielders just put their foot through the ball and hope, he weighed it and curled it, keeper had no hope. Just unlucky he hit the post. And to think that was the first time he’d been in a derby like that. Imagine how well he’ll go now he KNOWS he can take Brilliante and O’Neill.

I think he is a Leeds fan so he would be ecstatic that he will potentially play them barring injury.

If it's an ACL we can probably rule him out for next season 2019/20. By the time even a good recovery (like Aspro's 10 month recovery) is complete we'll be into the last handful of rounds of the season and he won't have the NYL to recover match fitness. Which I would think means we couldn't play him unless we had a dire lack of midfielders. The goal will be getting through his rehab and getting back in training for the last month of the A-League, being available if required and then having him be fit for pre-season 2020/21.

O'Doherty sidelined by injury

“It’s very disappointing to see that we will be without Jordan for the remainder of the Hyundai A-League season,” said Tsatsimas. 

“We will provide Jordan with the utmost support both physically and mentally through this tough period. 

“We hope to see him back on the field at the earliest opportunity.”

Western Sydney Wanderers FC have today confirmed the departure of midfielder Jordan O'Doherty.

O’Doherty joined the Wanderers in 2018 and over the last three A-League seasons has made 35 appearances and scored two goals for the club.

The midfielder suffered a devastating season-ending knee injury in his first season at the club, gallantly fighting his way back to first-team football.

Western Sydney Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas thanked Jordan for his contribution to the club over the last three seasons.

“Jordan has been a fantastic servant of our club and has shown great resilience and character to come back from injury to play first-team football,” said Tsatsimas.

“We wish Jordan all the best in the future.”

Have to feel for the guy. Suffered an ACL and then no game time. Tbh better off going to a club that will play him. 

Either he got released so we bring in Ugarkovic earlier to the club  OR It's a stupid decision to release him now and not until the end of the season.

He should be happy. He is actually getting some game time with the Jets. I don't think he would of get any while at the Wanderers.
