lloydy136 Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 So....... Where to now? De bohun's incomprehensible ramblings seem to indicate the ffa is going to change their rhetoric as opposed to making any actual changes to their system or treatment if fans. Do we completely boycott roar game? Walk in? Walk out? Silent protest? Support as normal and target mv game? Give ffa a chance to unveil their new appeals process (lol). Thoughts?

Thoughts? said this in the atb thread... (and i could be wrong) but seeing the banner displayed on Sunday tells me it will be business as usually for the roar game and the ffa has 30 days to show real change and put something in place what will happen after that no idea
Tranquilo Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 What i noticed while watching the rest of the match after the walkout on a tv at one of the stadiums bar's is the amount of money which is spent on stadium food/drinks etc. Does a % of food sales go to the FFA or is it just a contract which goes towards a catering company? Stadium food boycott would hurt them in the pockets, harder to administer but we can all hold and try not to grab a beer or 2 or stadium food in our own personal boycott?

They will have to discuss options and get legal advice I assume. They should still be able to provide some high level timelines however. Might be appropriate to target the Victory game (along with MV fans) as that will have given them 2 weeks since Gosford. Is that a reasonable amount of time to come up with something concrete? I agree - massive (noisy) support this week, crickets for the Victory match if the FFA don't act. Let them see how great their product is, and then how crap it can be if they keep acting like clowns.

Don't boycott yet, the walkout was effective (not in terms of numbers but in terms of atmosphere) so I think they are still going to be useful going forward. The thing that I would love to see is more people than just the RBB protesting, if half the stadium leaves it sends a much greater message than just a small minority of the crowd leaving.
DinoPresinger Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Read this in the paper...might be useful. They're probably a bit high profile for us (she has defended Assange among others), but it was mainly the last few paragraphs that got my attention: We have created the Grata Fund to address this need. Named after the first woman to practise law in Australia, Grata Flos Matilda Grieg, the Grata Fund brings together some of the best legal practitioners and advocates to provide financial support, free from concerns of financial return or political risk, to people who are determined to take cases to court that serve not just their own interests, but also those of the broader community. Inspired by game-changing court cases that have disrupted unjust laws around the world this year, like the US Supreme Court decision to legalise marriage equality and the Hague decision to mandate climate change emissions reductions in the Netherlands, we want to facilitate opportunities to do the same in Australia. We will facilitate and support individuals and community groups to use the power of the courts to secure landmark decisions like these. The need exists in Australia. With help from the community, the Grata Fund will open the courts to ordinary people to advocate on the important issues of our time. Full article: http://www.smh.com.au/comment/comment-jennifer-robinson-on-grata-fund-20151130-glbe10.html We're going to win this anyway and whoever is in charge of that fund aren't going to take this as seriously as we do. The FFA have 30 days from last Sunday

Wait for Gallop's presser at 2pm. Depending on which journos will be there and which questions he is going to be asked it could get ugly. If that happens then he might lose it and to dig in. If that happens then all bets are off.
DinoPresinger Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Presser says the exact same thing as they've always said so far. As usual Gallop + De Bohun don't give a **** and refuse to listen to the fans
ManfredSchaefer Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Odds for: Boycott: 7/2 Walk Out: 3/1 Silent Protest: 10/1 Normal Game day: 50/1 Anti-FFA Tifo: 3/2 #DeBohunIn Banner: 2000/1 Coppers Playing Handball: 9/1
marron Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Gallop pleaded with us to make atmosphere in a positive way. The inference being that we don't. He painted us all with that brush just like the hack journos.
Zelinsky Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 The post-Gallop press conference Round 9 forecast: 3k in Gosford 5k in Wellington 5k at Moore Park 8k at Wanderland 5k in Adelaide From Rd 10 onwards FFA will organise a cheer squad to create "positive atmosphere". They will most likely use the guys which were supplied in the past for Guangzhou games in Parramatta, Gosford and Melbourne.
theguest7 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 So, is anyone still in opposition of boycott?
SBW Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 In all honesty im not for boycotts but this is a must. We can't let the FFA get away with tbeir pathetic statements and repeating what their legal twam are telling them. They failed to stand up for us after Bourbon Beccy named and shamed the 198 fans in a national newspaper and the FFA are back flipping on the stance with bans.

Missing the match will be tough but it has to be done.
hawks2767 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 So, is anyone still in opposition of boycott? You'd be surprised, I have been reading comments from absolute muppets that those walking out aren't true football fans and how these bans will hopefully encourage more families to attend. Absolute flogs.
nmh94 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 One thing I do feel that could be done this week is to have people handing out leaflets to other fans coming in explaining why fans are boycotting the match. I feel more would have left with us on Sunday if this were the case. It might seem obvious to us, who post regualrly on forums such as this one why we are doing it, but it isn't always to the casual fan.
WSW27 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 The beers are way cheaper at the pub. In, or out I guess it is. #StayAtThePubRound
JosephWSW56 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 FINALLY! A full boycott. This is what is needed! EMPTY STADIUMS WILL EAT UP THE FFA!

You'd be surprised, I have been reading comments from absolute muppets that those walking out aren't true football fans and how these bans will hopefully encourage more families to attend. Absolute flogs. Look, I know many will still attend, but I'm mostly asking those fans who are educated enough to know what's what but for various reasons chose to sit on the fence and attend the previous game. It's time to make a stand, it's time to be united.
nmh94 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 FINALLY! A full boycott. This is what is needed! EMPTY STADIUMS WILL EAT UP THE FFA! I hope you're right mate.
DontCallMeJacko Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Boycott was always the next step. Gallop's "press conference" only confirmed that. See you all at the pub. Stand United.
nmh94 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Unfortunately the Victory are in Auckland this week, it would have been great to have them making a similar statement.
tardotz Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 It will never be an empty stadium but it will be a silent one. Don't be surprised that the FFA will start giving tickets away (ala AFL) to make it look full
JosephWSW56 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 FINALLY! A full boycott. This is what is needed! EMPTY STADIUMS WILL EAT UP THE FFA! I hope you're right mate. They're constantly lying to us. Hopefully now they will start taking us seriously and realise that we are not bluffing.
WSW27 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Alright lads here's the plan. Take the train. Go to Parra. Grab a chorizo, go to the Collector, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?
nmh94 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 It will never be an empty stadium but it will be a silent one. Don't be surprised that the FFA will start giving tickets away (ala AFL) to make it look full There is only a very limited amount they can do in this regard. 16 500 of the 20 thousand seats are already spoken for. They can't give away freebies in members seats. If they could, we wouldn't have had so many 14-15K "sell outs."
