  • Mariners Park The Barge To Claim Point In Parramatta.

    mack

Western Sydney dominated their midweek A-League clash but couldn't find a way through a packed Central Coast defence.

It was 90 minutes of anti-football from the Mariners and 90 minutes of a team still struggling for cohesion and match fitness failing to break them down. There were a handful of chances but few if any managed to be put on target, and those that did were easily covered by the defence or goalkeepers. The Wanderers looked reasonable on an individual level but no-one stepped up for a moment of glory, while the Mariners sat back and played as if in a 6-4-0 formation for the majority of the match.

    That's it.

    That's the match report.

The Wanderers next match is against the Newcastle Jets on Saturday the 22nd of November at 5:00pm at Parramatta Stadium.

the heat has more to do with our imports getting used to. A lot of them have not experienced australian summer weather and have come from leagues where football is played in winter. Saba.Romeo,Adeleke etc. We just need to look at star athletes such as Gallas last season who said he felt fit to play till he was 40. Then he felt the heat of Perth in plain summer in the evening and not sure what happened but i think he retired soon after his clumsy air swing.

Long season ahead of us, many disruptions still coming at us with CWC and Asian Cup, then AFC again, im sensing after feb we will see how well all a league teams are coping.

In regards to the walk out song or wolf song, yes when I contacted the club last season they said it was FFA mandated to make it a family friendly atmosphere.

Have we all seen the music clip for the Wolf Song?!

They have f*cking heads, where their crotch is!!!

its so damn hard to get into chant especially in the side bays of the RBB when this crap is blasted all the way till kickoff. Can't they at least turn off the pa speaker that is pointed towards the side, or notch it down a decibel or 2 as we begin to chant.

Have we successfully replaced our previous stars???Saba or Shinji ? ShinjiCastelen or Hersi ? HersiMullen or Polenz ? PolenzAdeleke or Dapuzzo ? AdelekeRuka or Minnecon ? RukaThat's a problem for me !!!

The problem is you'd have Hersi over Castelen

Bridge can beat one (sometimes two) men, and can pass the ball well. However, he doesn't have the vision and quick feet (notice he gets the ball caught up in his feet a fair bit) for a traditional no. 10. I think he came on more because Saba was dead on his feet. For me Bridge is better suited as a striker or out wide up front.

First of all, every time our wide players - Cole-Castelen-ruka looked to put the ball in the box there was only one player Juric

Saba was not making those runs into the box that Ono used to. Saba is a impact player when the opposition is tiered inject him into the game and watch him go. I still think that Saba should play behind Juric with Bridge and Castelen wide Ruka needs time the league is a step up since he last played.

Adeleke looks good, with time he will be one of the best LB in the league only his 2nd game what a step up from d'aputzo (however you spell his name)

A credit to our defenders and holding mids who had a very solid game... Hamill looks like a great CB

Saba was caught up field far to often. Juric backtracked further and as a result couldn't get back up the field soon enough when we broke quickly with our wide men. I know Saba doesn't want to do the dirty work sometimes and start with the ball in his own half, but we were left exposed in the middle at times.

Yeah I noticed that a lot in the first half. La Rocca or Poljak picked up the ball in front of the back four, had time to turn and face forward but had nothing other than Ruka and Castelen trying to run in behind the fullbacks and Juric doing the same to the cb's. Saba needs to be the option for the short ball.

Just a bit ironic for Wanderers fans to be complaining about parking the bus...

Corey Gamerio can no longer park a bus because of his ACL injury

    Very classy. Vintage Wanderers.

At least you're not complaining about the referees/the FFA/the police as reasons for your loss. Just blame it on the other team's tactics.

Don't think you can talk either now that you've got GA as coach but I think you'll find complaints are about us not putting away chances, not complaining that the bus was parked but more stating the fact that was Moss's tactic. This and the long ball, again stating fact. Is there anything wrong with that?

When a referee makes a poor decision, of course we are going to criticise. Or after the red in the FFA cup against Adelaide you accepted that you were outplayed and the red card was just part of the game. Again, fat chance and with Arnold you have no leg to stand on. FFA? Police? Are you sure you aren't Fapman in disguise?
