Mariners play in Japan tomorrow night against Kawasaki (in third place) then travel back for the game on Saturday afternoon.

Last season the ACL games seemed to give them extra confidence going into their regular season games. Not sure the same will happen this time around though.

Looking at our fixture list, we really need to win the next 2 as we have a lot if tough fixtures in the final stretch.

It’s been a while since I have sat looking into the early evening sun at Gosford…time to return. Seems like lifetime ago we used to go in big numbers eh.

Not this time if anything its been a confidence killer for Mariners. ACLE is several levels above what the AFC cup was.

They also have 3 injuries not sure if Doka is back from concussion, Sainsbury and Edmonson also injured.

I dig that Doka cat, why don't we sign unknown sexual players like him?

A rare signing to be honest. He was loaned from Santos to a 4th division brazilian team. Thats not normally where we'd be looking at players. The vast majority of guys playing in the brazilian 4th div would be absolute dog water

Kota from Jets would have been good too. Instead Staj likes playing Kraev on the wing.

Remember us taking a whole side of their stadium now we are lucky to fill a row

And there was that homphobic security guard who used to spend his whole time walking around the bay telling blokes to put their shirts on 🤣

Whole side and some of the other...in fact there was a time we took over their stadium like a home game...used to be more of us than them.

When overseas clubs sign Brazilian players from the lower tiers of Brazilian football, they pay big cash for them yet they perform very poorly on the field and would rather do an all nighter on the piss either before training or before a match

Arrrh stringer that is so lovely , I remember them as mostly wins and a drive home after buying an ice cream at the last servo before the freeway feeling quiet relaxed

I meant tear not year. But yes Central Coast trips were ace. Loads of Westies invading Gosford, drinks at the pub, a march, a win, trip home.

The last few I've done have been totally dead crowd wise and a bit of a mixed bag of results.

I think I'll go this week.

Just reading this thread....a bit of something good creeping in...A win this weekend and we will be on a bit of a roll.

Important game this one.

I am heading back to Gosford..don't ******* let me down!

I remember Hektik looking wistfully through the fence after he had been ejected by the police for being somewhat of an undesirable.

That, the Saucebottle and Captain Pedo copping a well-deserved ridiculing, and us heading back down the Freeway with 3 points in our pocket - those were halcyon days.

And the rain match...that goal...while we were bouncing up and down

i went absolutely ******* mental...we all did.

Happy times. Sends shivers down my spine watching that.

Even Aaron Mooy had hair...there is a marker of time.

I have to congratulate the Mariners on their stadium beers for that night. They were fantastic. My last beer just kept filling itself up, no matter how much I drank, more just kept appearing. It did get strangely clear toward the end but my vision kept getting blurrier so thats all that matters

The difference with that team was..When went 1 0 up you knew we'd win. Now we are likely to concede 2 mins later.

Fix that Stajinator and the good times will be back.

Difference also was connection between fans and that team. When that team ran out on the pitch pre game warm up they would get a massive roar, all on their feet. Players and fans were so pumped up...40mins before kick off, they were as up for it as the RBB in the stands. It turned some average players into absolute 90min machines. This ingredient is the hardest to get back, but it comes from players running through brick walls for the shirt.
