Admittedly, Canberra were out of their depth. And Fabian Monge scored a screamer of a Team goal where he started the passing on the left midfield and finished it. I did notice the coach was shouting at Majok who is deceptively quick. Could he replace Sotirio in the A-League squad this week? Prydzopolis 1 Link to comment

I believe ex-WSW player Remy Najjarine scored the last two for City. Makes it difficult for Victory attracting youngsters, with the potential for exploiting the City groups networks of clubs and $40m new facility certainly puts the scoreline in perspective Link to comment

Taurus
Lustica was expected to play 90 mins last Friday night; but only lasted 15 mins before experiencing tightness in his calf. Scans on Saturday revealed no further damage, so I'd expect him to play NYL again v's Jets this week Prydzopolis and Paul01 2 Link to comment

Paul01
round 5 Conference B Canberra Utd v Wanderers Mariners v Smurfs Jets bye Conference A Brisbane v Adelaide Perth v Melb Vic Heartless bye Our boys have a bye next round and return to action on the 6 Jan 2018 at Popondetta Park against the Mariners. Paul01
Defining week for our NYL team with a home game against the Mariners. A win for our boys and a draw in the other game (Jets v Smurfs) could send them GF bound. All depends on selections for the HAL team. Last time they faced the Mariners it was a 2-0 win away. Paul01
Despite the loss to the Mariners, our NYL team still remains top in Conference B. The other result was a draw between the Jets and Smurfs. Both of these team play us and Canberra United. Awin against the Smurfs away next weekend guarantees a GF spot so everything depends on Gombau HAL squad rotation. Missing this week were Tokich, Majok and Grozos. Hopefully they wont be needed against the Nix. Link to comment
Paul01
Smurfs NYL are up 3-0 and play Canberra utd. Next game against the Jets becomes a must win to make the GF. Link to comment
Paul01
NYL team away to Newcastle in a must win game. Hopefully we will play a full strength team without Tyson and win. This would guarantee a GF against Heartless. Smurfs playing Canberra United in an almost guaranteed win. WSW27 1 Link to comment
Paul01
NYL games today in our conference Canberra v Smurfs 4.00pm Jets v Wanderers 4.30pm jets will probably have Shabow and we will have Tyson last time we played the Jets it was a great game which ended up 5-3 our way. I think Daniel Axford was the GK that night. WSW27 1 Link to comment
Paul01
So the Smurfs NYL (last year's finalists), came second in our conference. That was despite a 5-2 away win over Canberra United NYL Our boys beat Newcastle NYL 3-0 away. The Jets team included Joe Champness in the starting line-up. Last year, the FFA staged the GF at Gosford. In looking at the standings from last year, the Smurfs NYL team were equal on points with Melbourne City but ahead on goal difference. Most likely, the FFA will send the GF to Melbourne. However, there could be a chance they could make it a double-header with our senior team with game to be played after the A-League game. A more sensible option would be to move the time of the Roar game to be the afternoon game and the A-league game so that the NYL GF can be played as the opening game at Gosford. But we all know this won't happen WSW27 1 Link to comment
mack
There's no A-League game in Melbourne next week. The FFA won't pay a hiring fee to open up AAMI Park for what would be a dismal crowd. It will be on TV and thus the the easiest option for the FFA is just put it on at around 2pm on Sunday in Gosford. It's the logical solution, which of course means it'll actually be at 4pm on Friday at the SFS or on Saturday at 2pm in Newcastle. SomeGuy1977 and wanderersfanatic 2 Link to comment

Paul01
I wonder if the club will put on a bus for the NYL GF? I would consider going if its just for our game. As to team selection, they don't need Aspro, Scott and Tyson I would like to see the squad selection as follows so that if truly the NYL team GK Suman Df Russel, Jordan Hall, Tass M, Cordier Mf Tokich, Monge, Grozos Fw Adam, Najjar, Majok Bench Axford, Leece, Roberts, Pufflet or Al-Talay Link to comment
