When Iacopo La Rocca posted the photo of his burst lip, still copping it from the Guangzhou fans, Antony came on the account. He then replied to a wanderers fan with this

Yes it is very sad but us winning next week will be the best reply you could give them. Let us players do the talking on the field for all you fans.

The Great One has received #6 presumably due to his swashbuckling goal from last night that reminded all of the way Polenz used to storm down the wing while overlapping.

I can't believe how much Golec has impressed me as a LB over the course of this amazing ACL knockout phase. What has impressed me most is his quality on the ball. I have noticed the angles that he creates when playing a pass into the feet of his teammates, when it seems no such pass is on. His ball retention is as good as anyone in the squad.

To be honest i thought he would be a bit of a plodder out on the left, a centre back playing out of position wide, but he has shown an attacking quality i didnt think existed. He will never be a marauding, over lapping left back, continuously on the fly past his left sided attacker. But he offers an option every time & you know that if you give the ball & move, you will get it back.

^^^ 100% agree, was a beast last night and rated him as my second player of the match. Didn't get forward as much last night but that wasn't the game plan!

Interesting! Just noticed someone popped a flare at the end of the NRL Final. Let's see if that will be in the paper tomorrow.

9:37pm - 5 Oct 14

Golec getting them good. If someone could link it, it would look better.

So no.6 is Golec's number. Cause I want to get him on my jersey as soon as possible but it feels like I am getting a tattoo so I don't want to stuff it up.

this.

he was an excellent outlet for covic - always available on that left side (and up the pitch as well) so we could retain possession rather than just hoof it
