We'd have to be fielding one of the cheapest on field starting team line-ups in a-league history.

I wonder if anyone has ever fielded a squad with just one visa player?? Or none?

While other teams have marquees, quality visa players It  just occurred to me we will field a team tonight with no marquee and only one visa player in the entire squad! Bonevacia. Surely that has to be a competition record? Only one visa player in the entire match day squad. God help us

That's an interesting point. I know the year the Mariners beat us in the Grand Final they only had three foreigners (Zwaanswijk, McGlinchey & Montgomery). In Round 27 they only played Zwaanswijk against Heart and left McGlinchey & Montgomery in Gosford. Don't appear to have any games without them all.

The early years of the comp it's quite likely there were a bunch of teams who didn't use any foreigners. edit - In round 1 2005/06 the first game ever played didn't have any foreigners get on the park for either Newcastle or Adelaide.

Ironically... the last time we beat the Smurfs we only has one foreign player starting and that was Nico Martinez. Can't remember what our starting line up was

There goes another one... And Franjic, it’s good that you care about O’Doherty, but a hard rub to the side of the head of a concussed player probably isn’t the smartest thing to do.

you know when you go to the Club and you go wingman for a mate and he takes home the best looking girl you have ever seen and you end up doing him a favour and occupy her real sweet, but lets say larger girlfriend, next morning you see your mate and he told you he had a **** night and she gave him the ass and he Ubered home, while you had the best night of sex and laughs you have ever had................................well that's what that half of football reminded me of :xnod:
