MathyouWSW
With the Men's A-League season for 2023-24 kicking off in roughly 20 days time from this post. I thought I'll start the predictions thread for another year. However, this year I'm going to give it a little bit of a twist . So, here's the predictions I'm looking to get from everybody: - The ladder prediction at the end of the regular season from 1st to 12th - Who will be crowned the A-League Champions of 2023-24? - Who will win the Joe Marston Medal? (The medal awarded to the player of the match at the A-League Men's Grand Final) - Who will win the Alex Tobin Medal? (The medal awarded to the player of the year by the 10 Network panellists during the regular season) - Who will win the Johnny Warren Medal? (The medal awarded by to the player at the end of the regular season as voted by 1 technical football expert, 1 football media representative, 1 former professional player representative and a combined vote from match officials per game) - Who will be the golden boot winner? How many goals will that player get? - Who will be the golden gloves winner? How many clean sheets will that goalkeeper get? - Who will win the coach of the year award? - Who will win the young footballer of the year award? - Who will win the Wanderers Medal for the Player of the Year? and now this is important bit! I'm requesting you provide between 5 to 10 bold predictions for this upcoming season. Since I'm feeling generous, there is a prize up for grabs this year! Whoever has the most boldest prediction for this season and somehow that prediction is correct by the end of the A-League Men's 2023-24 season, they will win a Wanderers shop gift voucher to the value of $100.00 from me. The more bolder or absurd your prediction is, the more chance that you are of winning the gift voucher. PLEASE NOTE: You must submit your bold predictions by midnight on Monday 16th October 2023. (I will most likely make a post on when the bold prediction entries will close just as a friendly reminder to everyone anyway) So...good luck and start predicting! sonar 1 Link to comment

Edinburgh
You have Perth at 10th and Glory at 12th!? Let me guess, 12th should be the Jets? Or is one team getting both 10th AND 12th your outlandish prediction? Edited October 1, 2023 by mack removed megaquote mack and MathyouWSW 2 Link to comment

MathyouWSW
Alright, I guess I better do my predictions: The ladder prediction: 1st - Central Coast Mariners 2nd - Sydney FC 3rd - Melbourne City 4th - Western United 5th - Western Sydney Wanderers 6th - Brisbane Roar 7th - Melbourne Victory 8th - Perth Glory 9th - Adelaide United 10th - Wellington Phoenix 11th - Newcastle Jets 12th - Macarthur FC Who will be crowned the A-League Champions of 2023-24: Melbourne City Who will win the Joe Marston Medal: Brian Kaltak Who will win the Alex Tobin Medal: Marcus Antonsson Who will win the Johnny Warren Medal: Alou Kuol Who will be the golden boot winner? How many goals? Jamie MacLaren - 21 Who will be the golden gloves winner? How many clean sheets? Jamie Young - 9 Who will the coach of the year award? Mark Jackson Who will win young footballer of the year award? Thomas Waddingham Who will win the Wanderers Medal for the play of the year? Marcus Antonsson Bold predictions: - Roughly 3 or 4 managers will be sacked or depart on a mutual termination from the club they are currently managing. - Tony Popovic will give Daniel Arzani the 'popa effect' just after the new year with Arzani requesting to leave Victory on a mutual agreement at the end of the season. - Tomislav Uskok will request to depart from Macarthur FC since Mile Sterjovski keeps selecting Matthew Jurman and Jonathan Aspro instead of him. Uskok will be in talks with Rudan to join the Wanderers mid-season - AirAsia owner and Queens Park Rangers part owner Tony Fernandes will buy a portion of Central Coast Mariners. - Shae Cahill will get overhyped on the KeepUp social media sites and some of panellists on the 10 Network (especially Andy Harper) when he debuts and plays on the field. - Thomas Waddingham will gain interest from clubs overseas - Daniel Margush will go out on loan when the mid-season transfer window is open - Marcus Younis, Nicolas Milanovic or Dylan Scicluna will gain interest from clubs overseas - Terry Antonis will score against the Wanderers and do some sort of celebration in front of Mark Rudan. This causes Antonis and Rudan to argue at each other with the ref and players from each squad having to intervene and separate them. Afterwards, the ref decides to give a red card to both Antonis and Rudan. - The mid-season transfer window will see all clubs using all their foreign players spots except Newcastle Jets. GunnerWanderer
The ladder prediction: ay I have city coming on top, they still have Mac and some good players Bos will be loss but Behich in you don't lose much, but I dont think it will be much. Maybe 5 points. popa rarely has 2 bad seasons in a row, I like Stajic to finally awake Glory again and if Taggart is healthy to rip it up and I like WSW and Roar. Basically I think these teams will sort out 2-5. Roar the most likely to prove me wrong and just be average. Next batch I have Mariners Adelaide and WU ESFC to fight for the 6th spot, I know I'm disrespect ESFC but FTM (f_ _ k those Mother F_ _ kers) I see Mariners losing too much with coach gone but holding on. Nix, WU , Cow and Jets to make up the numbers. If you ask me who could actually make 6 from here I saw no-one. My darhouse to Adelaide to really rise. 1st - City 2nd - Victory 3rd - Perth Glory (yes you heard it right) 4th - WSW 5th - Roar 6th - Mariners 7th - Adelaide 8th - ESFC (probably not by feels good) 9th - Nix 10th - WU 11th - Cows 12th - Jets Who will be crowned the A-League Champions of 2023-24: This is the year Mack finally wins in. Someone has to be positive. Thread title - MACK BLOWS LOAD AS WSW Finally win a GF Who will win the Joe Marston Medal: Brandon Borello Who will win the Alex Tobin Medal: Marcus Antonsson Who will win the Johnny Warren Medal: Adam Taggart Who will be the golden boot winner? How many goals? Marcus Antonsson - 17 Who will be the golden gloves winner? How many clean sheets? Whoever City has in goals - 10 game of clean sheets. Who will the coach of the year award? Mark Rudan Who will win young footballer of the year award? Thomas Waddingham Who will win the Wanderers Medal for the play of the year? Marcus Antonsson CBF with bold prediction I'll go for one. Rudan gets married to Mel. Full roundabout and certain forum members can save effort on regular pokes at him haha Link to comment

JPdM to take over. If Antonessen and wins Tobin award then we are scoring goals if Thomas.gets golden Globe then we aren't conceeding goals. Generally if you score.goals without conceeding you win football games,.so if you are right on them we will finish higher than 9th. Not to say we won't finish 9th with Rudan sacked.bur it that's the case then Antonessen is Pio Mk ài Link to comment

papersun
That game probably could have ended 5-5, lots of Mariner's moves breaking down at the last step, the injury disruptions didn't help either. BoyFromTheWest 1 Link to comment
