I doubt he's going to come back from Europe.

Yeah he'd have League 1 teams climbing over each other to get him. Might even be a few low championship teams that would take him too. He's a national team level player with basically no injury history at all who's capable of playing a 40 game season. He's well up to the physicality and speed of those mid/low english leagues.

He could be a good pickup for one of the promoted teams like Portsmouth or Derby; maybe Bolton if they make it

Bolton would be interesting. The way Baccus moves the ball and likes to play forward could suit Evatt. Plus he has agents Gethin Jones and Jack Iredale to give him the inside line.

Yeah, I know that he wont be coming back home. But, just let me dream about it...please?

Anyway, about 12 months ago there was 6 clubs that were interested in him: Cardiff City, Huddersfield, Norwich City, Blackpool, Bolton and Rangers FC.

I'm not upset that the non performing visa players are gone. They're supposed to be a cut above the locals in skill, tecnique and talent.....they were'nt.

Sayonra lads and don't let the door hit you on the arse on the wayout.

Jimi was.

One of the better imports in the league although didn't play enough games due to injury and stupidity

Marcello is a class above

The other two were crap.

Repeating myself but that Rudan took them off (or didn't play then at all) in our so called grand final games showed how crap they were. Team should be built around em.

And once again given the obvious holes in our team at LB and CB that we only signed 4 visa players is criminal. Our recruitment couldn't find a left back in the world?

Unlikely to get Keanu Baccus. He does have interest from League One teams and Championship now they don't need to pay a transfer for him. Rangers were also rumoured in January to be keeping tabs on him along with Gent from Belgium. Hibs were also interested in June. Monty might want him to refresh his squad the transfer fee was the reason they didn't go for him back in June. So no we won't be bringing him back to A-league unless it all falls through for him in Europe.

Marcelo kept us top 6. Other around him didn't perform nor did we find an effective partner for him.

Hendrix absolutely was in the first half of the season until the injury. From there it look like he was playing at half his best so was rehab no good or what? His gone now and we need someone now to partner Priestmann in midfield. The person we recruit needs to compliment Priestmann ability for an effective midfield.

First order of off season business should be evaluating the purpose and direction of the academy

Perhaps one thing Rudan actually got right from memory we just left the NPL team battling in Div 2 and never really cared about moving up… this was incredibly short sighted at least now we are in NPL 1 and doing well we should always be here it gives our youngsters the best chance of playing good football.

I've heard Risdon is coming back to the wanderers, and that we'll be transitioning Simmons into a left back ahead of next season

I just read he's going back to Glory.

True but I can't see him going anywhere exotic; maybe a lower Championship club?

He’s obviously thinking given now he’s been over there for 2 solid years and is a regular NT player he should be able to step it up, Baccus needs to play if he doesn’t he might he might back in a league by Jan.

Susnjar leaving Perth for "another A-League club".

This is interesting. I worked with his fiance at a previous job. She is from Sydney obviously.. could have persuaded him to come out this way again?

Don't think this would be a bad signing, big, strong CB and has a lot of Mrcela in him. Can't really be judged on this season, that entire perth team was a shambles

Wrong.

That "another A-League club" is rumoured to be Newcastle Jets:

I wonder if that means Cancar is departing then as Natta and Grimaldi are signed to the club till 2026.

Milanovic would probably be the other playing seeking OS move, possible Simmons I doubt anyone else has enough runs on the board to contemplate going.

Not sure how reliable this guy is, but I guess we'll wait and see what happens.

My guess that the important player wanting a move is Lawrence Thomas.

Doubt he would be wanting to stay if those reported conflicts with Rudan were true.

Rumour is Marcelo also rejected the extension. We must have been offering peanuts to both. Foreign recruitment is going to be infinitely harder if there is a slash in revenue from the tv deal.

I don't understand how $1-2 million in TV revenue would impact a club owned by a billionaire though.

And if we did actually offer him less money, maybe it's because he clearly wasn't as good as he was the season before?

Our club needs to get way better at scouting foreign players. There's a whole world of options out there and we only need five.

I'd settle for poaching scouts from the Mariners at this point. In the last couple of years they've signed players like Kaltak, Nkololo, Tulio, Doka, Barcellos, Torres (the player, not the human being). None of them were particularly high profile before signing and they won't be on crazy money.

How many of our visa signings have been at that level in the last two years? Marcelo? Amalfitano? Layouni?

Robbie Thompson talks heavily about France but specifically Ligue 3. Its semi pro in France however you can get players like Beni N Kololo as its a league that has a lot of talent that isn't heavily scouted due to being semi pro but there a number of players that can play at A-league level.

Yeah maybe, there will be a line of suitors and offers for him , just got to be the best for him.

my pal back home reckons Wrexham are sniffing around, but it’s the silly season, every agent has their blurb leaking all over the show right now

He did ok in his first season with St. Mirrens but performance dropped massively this season.

I think a move to League 1 would be a good move for him, its not step down but I think thats his level in Europe.

Brandon Borello maybe?

Remembered on RBTV last week that someone said if there is an offer for Borello we should cash in on it.
