Cops come in a while after the smokie. Then after a discussion, a guy turned his head away a bit. A cop shoved him, hard, In the back of the head unprovoked. Following this, people naturally became incensed. A cop pulled out the pepper spray. A 13 year old kid, still outside the ground being treated by ambos, copped a substantial amount of it (side note, I now know what it tastes like. Not good.) Disgraceful behaviour from the police. I was about 15-20 meyres away so I don't know what was said. That is my account of the events.

As I said earlier, can't have it both ways.. No smokie, no cops...end of story.

Seriously? There is a young kid in agony, with his mum in tears outside the ground because of the actions of a police officer, not the RBB.

    You massive ******* idiot.

You don't pepper spray a kid stealing chocolate from Woolies.

There's a time and place for pepper spray, and football isn't time for it.

    You dense mother****er

Pepper sprayed in face. Still stinging. NT locked in. They must have had a Good Reason huh ??? How bout they are **** wits and don't know where Ferguson is

I'm sorry mate I don't understand your post. Are you saying you were the one that was pepper sprayed in the face? And I suppose Ferguson is just a typo.
I got sprayed in the mouth. Still burning. Kids were thrown on concrete like rag dolls. Ferguson in the US is not a typo but a sign of what I saw tonight. The regular security was stunned at how we were treated. Dmxtaaa **** off. Sydney FC is looking for you.

Oh ok that Ferguson. It's so sad to hear what happened. I have no doubts that the rbb will come out guilty out of all of this.

Can someone give a description of the pepper spray victim (kid), my 14 year old cousin was in the RBB and I haven't heard from him.

My cousin is short, Caucasian with pale skin, brown hair and eyes.

I get it, emotions are high but I have said it now for 3 years.... There is no room for flares inside the ground at Wanderland. Just like there are no room for abusive posts because that is all they have got in their arsenal and can not, no matter how hard they try, defend the indefensible....but then again if they had any clue they wouldn't be covering for the pyro technicians and crying wolf every time something like this happens. Whether there are 3 yo, 10 yo or 40 yo kids involved. Instead of blaming the cops how about blaming the person who was responsible for the cops to escalate the situation in the first place.

As for those telling me to go elsewhere, pfft good luck with that. I'll still be here for many years to come whilst one by one the troublemakers are banned as are the same people who cover for these people which happens time and time again.

Sure you all love to boast brag and admire the RBB but as soon as we cross your sanctimonious moral line you would throw us to the dogs. It's not us that cannot have it both ways but you. Ask the question why was tonight any different from a thousand others. Some midgets in jump suits thought it about time to show who's boss like school yard bullies terrified that we would dare get upset when our own get trampled.

Just my 2 cents on the flare issue.

Do I like flares? Yes visually they are gorgeous as **** and look amazing.

Do I support their release at games? No because they are illegal. Regardless of what we think the law is above us. I like not paying tax too but that's illegal as well. Not that I do it.

But should I be pepper sprayed if I don't pay tax? Of course not. Brutality against people including innocent randoms is not right and the police are dogs for doing it. They wouldn't have come in if the flares were not lit, but I'm sure there are ways of dealing with such an issue. As DamnedUnited said above, it's either you spray people every time they let off a flare or you never do it.

Stop playing the White Night. You don't get ****! You don't get that a kid who has school on Monday might not go to school. Pepper spraying the general public because some ripped a flare or words were exchanged. **** off dude.

Mate don't twist my words now. I said the police would not have come in to intervene if the flare was not lit, I didnt say they were justified in intervening the way they did.

They could've come in, arrested the person that ripped it, some would yell out Acab as usual and life would go on. If they came in and did what is said on this forum then I don't think that is right.

Yep, that will do it... If you can't see anything wrong with this, perhaps you may be more suited to watching football in other countries where they allow draconian behaviour and the safety of others isn't valued as much.

Every person on this forum believes that the cops tonight were bad bad filthy dogs.

I enjoy the sight of a flare. It's great ****. Until the law changes, they shouldn't be at the games.

Something was going to happen, it was always going to escalate at some point.

That poor kid was a victim of idiotic police whose attention was drawn to us because of our actions.that cop if questioned will say, as someone mentioned earlier, that he felt threatened and thought he was in danger. Then you add that a flare was ripped, currently a practice that is illegal and deemed dangerous. He has no choice to respond. His actions will be justified.

This is consequence of us deciding to do whatever we want.

Before you attack me, this is not necessarily my opinion, but the reality.

If we want to fiight for our freedoms, challenge the laws, don't just break them continuously in the hope they will go away.

This was my reason for attempting to argue against the use of flares at the beginning if this thread.

So a hail storm and a second string team (noting that there is another ACL game to go). Bloody happy that I decided to not drive north for this one.

Anyway, some may be happy to hear that this withering fan is now off! I was a member from season one and had some good times travelling up the coast and down to Melbourne, but I'm just not feeling it anymore. Truth be told if I were Sydbey based I'd still be there next year, but I'm not that keen on a number of 6 hour round trips on the chance that I'd be stuck watching the same dross on offer at present (the monotonous drone from the RBB isn't to my liking, either). So, from next season there'll be one more seat available in the Eastern Grandstand. Hopefully someone can make better use of it than I did this year.

    Weakling...

    yeah i know.

All this overzealous overpolicing at football games is like living in a NWO where the first thing you'll know is you'll see a police boot being applied to your face, even for the smallest things like watching a game

^^^ Well that will do me....  If you can say that these police weren't intimidated into taking offensive action then you guys seriously are taking the piss.

You can clearly see the fans intimidating the police in voice and actions as well as you can clearly hear someone calling out encouraging others as they try and surround the police. They had no other option in this instance but to use the force necessary to get themselves out of danger, which they did.
