Description: A talented young striker who had the early part of his career marred by off-field controversy. His first stint at the Wanderers career burned bright, quickly becoming a supporter favourite for his passion and goal scoring ability only for a rumoured falling out with the senior playing staff & coaches seeing him leave the club at the conclusion of his first and only season in the Red & Black. After a horror run for Iraklis he initially came back to the Wanderers for a short trial before signing a 2 year deal. His second coming lastly little more than half a season as he fell victim to Tony Popovic's notoriously short fuse and joined Andrew Redmayne in being punted from the club in January 2017.

IN retrospect Bulut's cameo at the Wanderers arguably did more for him than for us. Yes, he certainly did demonstrate an energy and arguably a level of commitment to a pressing game that the rest of those around him were at times lacking. Some of his goal scoring heroics (most notably the double against the smurfs) were just that; heroic. He must also be given his due when it comes to how the fans reacted to him; the connection not just in how he was often giving us rare bright spots in some ordinary results, but also the cultural, local kid come home aspect were both remarkable. But...

Perhaps I'm being too harsh, or just being a contrarian, but I found his on field egotism at times too much to bear. A good striker needs to be very self-possessed, and the greatest can be fooking arrogant pricks (hello Suarez). There were times that you would see Kerem carrying on like a 3 year old having a tanty and it would piss off one and all. That offside incident that many have referred to before is a classic case.

I appreciate his time in the red and black and once you don the club shirt there is already an aura placed on you (except perhaps Adam Madaschi) as far as I'm concerned. Bulut was probably the biggest individual success on the park this season for us however when push comes to shove this is a team sport, and I'm yet to be convinced how well Bulut sits within a team culture. For example, even though we all know that Berisha is an A-Grade dickhead when it comes to his antics on the pitch against the relevant oppo, he never gives the impression he puts himself above his team mates. There were times during 2014/15 when Kerem came across as thinking less about the team and more about himself.

Best of luck to him in any overseas ventures he might have, and if he was to end up at say a Newy Jets or maybe a CMM even then I'd be wishing him well. If however he ended up at say the smurfs or such like in the A-League he can get somewhat stuffed...

Also refer to WSWbrotherhood who also posted a bit of a blurb on Kerem Bulut!

The only person in the world right now going to Greece to get more money? I think he is being ill advised or didn't watch the news for the past year...  :ninja:

Don't think football is a big issue in terms of money flowing through the game, just hope that the Greek football clubs aren't run like the Greek economy. You'll probably find football is probably a massive part of there lives over there with so much of the economy struggling & so many people going through hard times, football is the outlet they need in which they can escape for 90 minutes to enjoy themselves.

If you are looking for work in Greece, get a job in the flare business. They like the flares

How do they test players on "character problems"?

Lock them in a room with their future captain and time how long it takes before they try to punch them?

Put them in an offside position on the training pitch then take a shot at goal without passing to him?

It's interesting, plenty of companies these days make sure they undertake all different type of testing on your character including psychometric testing & other types of personality/temperament type testing. It wouldn't surprise me if football clubs started to use this testing to see if players would fit into clubs culture especially with players that have had character problems/issues in the past.

I'll just restate that I'm not sure they actually undertook testing or whether they just used this as an excuse if they had any second thoughts about signing him.

apparently he spat the dummy at training and carried on like a ****wit

senior players in the squad said they didn't want him around
