Oh dear..how things change...

Boro are in free fall and lost meekly to bottom of table Barnsley without a shot on target. The 4k away following made their feelings known at full time.

Its desperate times for the club who are now facing the very real prospect of going down to leauge 1 for only the 3rd time in over 140 years of history. To gi down on the back of performances like today to fellow relegation strugglers is unacceptable. :xmad:

And now Sunderland are flying and looking like automatic promotion contenders. We are going to swap places with them.

Could be worse. You could be stone motherless last and struggling to get any points against your fellow relegation contenders. Despite a new manager. :sorry:

All EFL games suspended until 3rd April when it will be reviewed....

I think an extension likely and if so i think it will be hard to extend the season towards June, players contracts and things...

Season might be over and if so i think they would take the static approach and declare the season void..no promition or relegation...

Which would mean no promotion for Leeds :woah:

And Bolton. Started the season with -12 points, a winding up notice and three senior outfield players. Their first seven results were a draw, a forfeit and 5 losses, including four losses in a row by five goals.

What luck for them, can’t see the league being able to impose the -12 points again next season

Finally got around to downloading Sunderland Til I Die.

I don't really follow any League in the UK so I felt every result.

Wowee and I thought supporting WSW was tough, this is nothing.

This is an incredible display of how a team can affect a whole city, and an undeniable answer as to should we have P&R here in Oz or not.

Especially a city that has stuff all else left, all the industry left years ago

I couldn’t see pro/rel here having anywhere the same impact, football is such an integral part of those cities, there’s nothing like it here  (despite what the AFL might tell you)

Summed up in two players they let go, the striker Maja  who left in January and John Williams they go on a free came on as sub for Charlton at Wembley and turned the game (point to prove?)

all in all a enjoyable view for the neutral and people who don't  normally view football.

Just on that, they spent 3 - 4 mil on Grigg, could they have pumped that into keeping Maja? it was unclear to me.

They were only going to spend just over 1m on Grigg then panicked at the 11th hour !!

They might have picked up Cox from Southend for that.....

It came down to the fact that whatever the offer, the agent told him to reject it. They could have offered Maja the 3-4m in wages but his agent doesn’t get a cut

It looked to me like Maja's agent was going to clean up from the transfer fee so pushed him to Bordeaux ???

Yes, the agent was going to get a commission on the transfer. It’s the reason he was pushing it so hard for him to reject Sunderland. This way he gets a cut from Bordeaux for facilitating the transfer & he gets a % of Maja’s contract. Conflict of interest much?

Seems to me while a young footballer is starting out, the club hold the power with the contract being offered, as soon as youngster shows promise and gets an agent then a reversal takes place and the player (or agent) seems to hold the box seat and drives the negotiations to all and sundry.

can sympathize with the chairman to an extent but surely he could have taken the lad aside and explained the situation to him and tried harder to get him to sign, it's unclear in doco if he did, everything went through agent it seemed.

got 0-0 written all over it i feel.

Ha! 3 - 0 down after 25mins. Swansea should have scored 6.

Boro are farked and heading down. It's a sorry state of affairs at my club
