Something to keep us busy while the off-season slowly wends its way through the egg-ball months. Post something that was your 'first...', like first car, first beer, first home, first concert, first football game etc etc.

 

To kick things off, my first record:

First gig: I think was either spiderbait or regurgitatir but I'm not sure anymore

First beer: can of fosters (thanks gramps)

First movie: land before time, at the mt Vic flicks

First proper football match: Vanuatu v aus 21s (I think) chapuis stadium, luganville. Somewhere on here I wrote a much longer description!

First record: ABBA Super Trooper (won it in a SunHerald competition)

First Car: XY Falcon with the aerodynamics of a house brick.

First Gig: Some festival (called a concert in those days) at Flemington Markets..The Angels, The Church, The Radiators, Dragon, The Allniters, The Saints....it was so long ago I can't remember the rest.

First Movie: The Muppet Movie at Merrylands cinema (Yes they hadf a cinema)

First proper football match: As a kid our family outing was Sunday arvos at Marconi watching the likes of Tony Henderson, Rene Licata, Mark Jankovic, Allan Maher, Ian Gray, Craig Foster, Victor Bozanic, Berti Mariani and yes Manfred Schafferwas the coach for a very succesful period.

First bicycle: Shimano BMX with red tuffs.

Carns, your pop culture obsession was the next non-pirated computer game I had

 

Mine I would have to say was Voltron or Transformers, not sure which came first. Of my mates, one had a voltron obsession and had all the stuff, one transformers, had so many, one was ghostbusters crazy and had a stack of toys, another was into star wars and had heaps of figurines, including the millenium falcon, another was into he-man and had a huge collection of those.

 

I had... nada.

 

But I was still obsessed

First beer - Cascade premium light (flogged from Dad's beer fridge when he wasnt at home, tasted like ****, still does IMO lololololol)

 

First game I went to - Smurfs V Fury - think it was Fowler's first game in Sydney. 

 

First Car - VZ Commodore equipe, had an exhaust put on, sounded really Westy lol.

First concert was deep purple, first concert I went to with mates would be local punk bands at the civic centre.

First beer was probably VB.

First album that I bought: No ******* idea to be honest. Maybe Grinspoon's first one, or Frenzal Rhomb's Meet the family. Dunno.

First gig: Probably Homebake '98. There may have been smaller gigs before then, that's the first I remember.

First plane ride: Sydney to LA (4 hour stop in Fiji) when I was 21

First beer: VB before a blue light disco (HAHAHAHA) when I was about 13-14 (it was st clair, I was a late starter)

First game I went to: I went to an under 21s game with my neighbours when I was about 8, but I was late to the domestic scene. Went to an ESFC vs MV game in 09 or 10 I think.

First celebrity crush: Alicia Silverstone

 

I'm yet to buy my first car (probs won't) or score my first goal (probs won't)

I remember Homebake 98 very well.... I was at a punk show at a pcyc with about 20 people most of whom were in the bands. Why aren't there more people here? ****, said the organisers... what were we thinking? haha.

1976 Toyota Corolla CS sedan...nicknamed Max aka the Brown Smear on Wheels. Had more rust than a pack of no frills razor blades, blew its head gasket, threw a wheel coming down the Moonbi Hills north of Tamworth and sold it for $500 to a wreckers circa 1991. A true shitbox but was freedom with a manual transmission
