Basically all sold out, should be 16k min.

Mate,  we are at the mercy of our members. We have 18k. Now they need to show up

Expect 15+ With more kids than last week

Scheduling last week was crap with a 7.00pm game on Sunday night before a school night all because they didn't want the Nix game to clash with the Rugby test on Saturday night. We got shafted

Most home games are 7.50pm both on Friday and Saturday.

The only exceptions are the home games against R16 Newcastle at Campbelltown which starts at 5.00pm on a Saturday, the R19 game against the Mariners which also starts at 5.00pm on a Sunday and the R23 Nix game which starts at 7.00pm on a Sunday.

Redmayne to keep a clean sheet and get no credit for it.

It's the way it works. Always at fault, never the saviour.

If we can't keep a clean sheet against the Mariners it would be a joke - who can we keep a clean sheet

against . Playing a team that is red hot favourite for the wooden spoon and think win is a Wollongong

    TV station.

We are playing at home , have a full injury free team backed by a good crowd , a striker hungry for

goals , the team and coach is smarting from last match so all the factors are in our favour. Any win

by a margin of less than two goals should be viewed as a failure.

They came back against perth when 3 down, lost to ESFC to the same margin we did and lost by a goal last week.

Where does our superiority come from?

No, I'm asking you where our superiority has come from compared to the mariners.

I think we have had a modest start, which doesn't fill me with such confidence as to expect a 2 goal win.

3 points, however they come, is all that really matters today. I don't care if it is via a 1-0 win from a deflection following no shots on target.

There are a lot of good sidrs this year (Cahill FC, Perth, ESFC) so we need to e picking up maximums against sides who aren't going to do anything, like CCM.

I'm hoping Okon picks Faty so the team can get 4 goals before halftime.

The 1-0 loss the Mariners had to Brisbane was where they had 0 shots on target with 6 blocked shots and 4 off target.

Okon should pick Izzo over Necevski.

Liam Rose has been selected in the squad after U19 National Team duty and was a usual starter for them last year.

    Poscelliero is out injured.

Plus they now have the Valentines Day assassin from February Blake Powell.

Riva, I think you've forgotten the fact every team, no matter how poor they are lifts against us and feeds off our unique atmosphere. Expect some World class saves some from their keeper and an absolute arm wrestle for the win.

    Today is simple.

Do or do not. There is no try.

As long as we show up, a result is in the offing. 3 points is achievable and how they come matters less to me at this stage. We've improved every week, question is, 4 rounds in does Nico start?

BTW, with Schweinsteiger getting the treatment at Man U, do we plumb for a Cahill and tidy up the midfield. (I know I'm dreaming)

One of those days when you're in Sydney but can't make it! Still can't wait for a good performance by the boys!

The issue is that he will generally have an unremarkable save, a few run of the mill collects & the usual gasp when he has the ball at his feet too long or comes out for the high ball before retreating.

In those games I usually give a :good: but when he ****s up, it's bad

    Weather updates?

**** weather this morning with overnight rain, shut cleared early & is very nice!

In the clubs history in the A-league, we've played 114 games (including finals) and won by two goals or more on 22 occassions. Or 19% of the time. http://ultimatealeague.com/club_detail.php?club_id=13&info=fixtures&season=all

It is statistically likely you will be disappointed.

    But, we knew that anyway.

Well a team like the Mariners would have to fall in the 19% wouldn't they. You're the stats man , they

have won something like two games out of the last about 30 (can't be bothered to check) and have two hopeless goalkeepers.

This CCM squad is arguably one of the weakest we've faced, so we should beat them, of course.

Thing is, we've only ever scored three or more goals 14 times (12%) in the league. BUT our record is 46.67% Win, 25% Draw and 28.33% Loss (against A-league teams, when playing at home). So, we win plenty, just not by a large margin. We've never been prolific in front of goal, and that's OK, as long as we get the win.

More often than not this season we've been our own worst enemies. And with a goalkeeper who can be consistently inconsistent and a defensive line still learning each others game we've been susceptible to defensive errors.

If we can solidify at the back, and our attack starts to gel, it's an easy win. But we're not the finished article yet (and this is still the best start to a season we've had). This stat just shows that if and when it clicks, we can be a formidable team. But it always takes a while (much to the frustration of our fanbase).

I will be interested to see whether the Smurfs and Vi$ion FC can maintain their strong starts over an entire season. History says they will drop back a bit at some stage, but anything can happen (particularly with the extra concessions granted to Vi$ion - 3 marquees, two dodgy loan players etc.).

    Real danger game imo.

They would have seen last week that you can get behind our cb's and they have some pace up front. Will be interesting to see if okon adapts his approach or if he stays with the keep ball stuff.

    • I knew I was missing one. Zdrilla should be super high on the list.
    • Thats a slightly pessimistic view of what he's achieved. His wiki is outright wrong. His first stint at Oxford as a player but mostly coach lasted nearly 10 years. Then 4 years at Wellington. Then 2 years running youth NT. Then a short stop at MC then 2 years in India. The reason why I want at this particular moment is the same reason he gets dragged around. He's absolutely outstanding with youth players. He gets moved to do a job, though I will admit the india move was a weird one, despite winning silverware and a decent run in asia. His MCFC stint was always interim He's regarded as top teir when it comes to young players. When you look at the crop we have right now, the right coach could build a dynasty. Instead we are looking at another season with a bloke who constantly uses players and other coaches as human shields. The youngsters need to study the bus time table this off season to avoid getting thwon under it.
    • Here's a few names: - Andrew Christensen: Despite the fact he doesn't have a choice on the NPL squad each week due to some players getting the call up to the A-League squad. What Christensen has done so far this season has been magnificent with the NPL squad. He would use the likes of Sapsford, Blair, Younis, Hammond, Priestman, Bonetig and Barrie into the squad and looked how some of those performed last week? They have more passion to represent the club than some of the actual seniors within the squad. He would probably promote youth players like Hollingdale, Cameron and Bugarija as well who honestly deserve a scholarship into the senior squad for next season anyway.  - Adam Griffiths: Currently the assistant coach at Wellington. He was at the Wanderers last season but left. Prior to that, he was managing NPL club Manly United and did a great job there. They got runners up in competition one year under Griffiths - Franco Parisi: He's only been managing APIA Leichhardt for two seasons but he won the premiership with them last season. - Arthur Papas: Did alright at the Jets even though they were a below average team at the time. He is liked by fans within the A-League and it would nice to see him back. He would probably grab Eli Babalj as an assistant coach as well.  - Tony Popovic: I would not be surprised Lederer has been talking to him to come back. Personally, I wouldn't want him back. What he did for the first and second at the club was great. Then, it spiralled.  - Scott McDonald: Currently managing Gold Coast Kinghts who has been killing it in the NPL QLD competition Long shots: - Mirko Jelicic: He's an Australian that's been managing in Uzbekistan. He managed a Uzbekistan club to win a treble one season and he currently is the assistant manager for the Uzbekistan national team. - David Zdrilic: Rudan praised him for his work at Sydney FC.  - Des Buckingham: As @Upthehill mentioned, every club he has been at he's done really well with them. - Jon Brady: Helped Northampton Town get promoted into League One last season
