When is Berisha's contract up at WU? He's an Aus citizen now and would not be commanding the money he once did. Would easily be more value and have a better eye for goal than the majority of our attacking players right now. Pair him up with a proper striker and that's a big problem solved right there

End of this season I believe.

Ya don't score goals ya don't win zip.........ala Ibini & troisi last minute efforts in the last two games. We had enough possession and chances to win.....we didn't take em. we need a striker.

Ya concede more goals than you score an ya don’t win zip and that has been our  problem we score nearly every game but we concede more so ya don’t have to be Einstein to work out ya build a team from the back forward and and you don’t concede you only have to score 1 not 3 a game

if we look at how many games have we chased with 20 minutes to how many friggin times have we been down 1 nil within 10 minutes

Ok stats fans how many teams this year have we conceded early feels like loads

also when we do go up by 1 we turn off and let em back in

In our glory days if we went 1-0 up we would win

All of this makes my blood boil at what a stupid signing Mutch was, we got rid of a foriegn player)well ziegler got citizenship to get a foreign spot and we then wasted it on a player in a position that we didn’t need who’s made of balsa wood (he’s probably a good player but it’s sod all use if he’s not on the pitch)

Jobs for the boys. If CR sticks around and keeps signing players from his ******* agent I'll be fuming (admittedly, if they're an amazing signing, by all means). Mutch made no sense.

We have not scored in only 2 games from 18 this season,  we minimise the goals scored against us and we would be much higher on the table simple stuff really

Concede 2 at home to a bog average roar and you don’t deserve to win

Posted

Well there you go we score 1 have better side fence and we win the game both goals from roar we’re from our total inability to intercept crosses.

give me a decent centre back and we go forward and start winning, forget Einstein working this out cause Freddy Bloggs coaching the under 8s can work that out.

Mustafa Amini was sitting behind me at the game Friday night. Doubt our performance encouraged him to sign.

Did you though? Please tell me it's so... 😜

Today I heard a rumour about a Sydney FC player coming our way, don't think its true at all.

Yep, he is still at Sydney, just on loan.

I know RBTV announced the rumour, however don't know how its come about.

Absolutely no chance it happens.

So is Mutch actually injured or out of favour I don’t remember reading about it.

I don’t dislike the signing as I thought it’s always good to have completion for places, I don’t mind a foreigner on the bench sometimes we have too many on the bench but coaches call

no way we will get ALF

but if he didn’t he would go 19 games for 2 goals 😎

I agree, no chance we get ALF.

Mutch was training today so I assume he is fine to play again. Should start over Baccus.

He looked a bit ginger walking off after though.

I watched this on RBTV. Absolutely no chance it would be Alf. Don't think we could even afford him at this stage.

Alf and Sydney want a reunion but his club in the ISL was a City Football Group club so they’re playing hardball. Kinda funny in a way lol. Chances of him coming back to Aus altogether appear minimal now.

Yea I saw that too. I was confused I swear I heard on either the Fox podcast or Hill's podcast that Le Fondre is still contracted to the Smurfs is actually just on Loan to the Indian club. I can't remember which one but it in regards to the rumours there is no chance he is coming to us.

Le Fondre is on loan from ESFC, but his contract with them ends at the end of this season. From my understanding there was no proposal that he was definitely coming back to either complete this season or play on under a new contract next year.

Fullbacks of Wilmering and Russell aren't really inspiring.

Both IMO aren't starters yet.

Both very risk averse and offer bugger all going forward.

Maybe I wasn't that wrong when I said this and got blasted back then lol.

Russell isn't doing too bad still creating a bit on the wings however the crosses tend to leave a lot to be desired. Wilmering crossing is amazing and a feel a bit of confidence something can happen with his left peg plus his anticipation has been good. Aquilina has an amazing Engine if he had more shooting practice would already a few more goals to his name. All 3 however have been limited in their effectiveness since the beginning of the season. I feel its more the formation and tactics than anything on their individual performance and the opposition teams figuring out how to play against us.

I have been saying this since the beginning of the season when Aquilina and Russel were bombing forward and were the only sources of creativity rather than Troisi or Muller. We shouldn't be heavily relying on our wing backs to create all our attacks. They are meant to be an outlet that can vary our attacks NOT be the main creator which is a pit we have fallen into making us one dimensional.

The wings backs don't concern me I actually think they have been one of the many positives for us this season, they have been left exposed defensively mostly because of the back 3 system again not through any fault of their own but rather team setup.

If I was to criticise specific players I would say

- Mcgowan/Ziegler Both should be leading the line at the back and taking charge I feel a foreign defender of Alberto, Delpierre or cloning Ziggy could help or defensive issues, Natta has been fantastic and Tass was good before the injury and now the future is uncertain for him with the emergence of Natta

- Dorrans/Baccus/Mutch - There is no way around Baccus very consistent and had an amazing run last season with Schwegler next to him. This apart from the first 4 games mistakes have been creeping into his game and its not getting any better. Dorrans has been ok but we need more from him to get our attacks going, Mutch well look good as a squaddie but his a foreign player apart from the WU game its easy to forget his part of the squad

- Muller - Last season was probably the source of all our attacks and making things happen. Has lost favour with Carl and now we only see 15 minute cameos. Foreign player not good enough.

- Troisi/Ibini - Look there was big things expected from both players comming in. We all know what both CAN be capable of, however their performance in red and black has been underwhelming and frankly shyte. Apart from the Perth game its been a terrible season for both players. Troisi doesn't how to pass or shoot and Ibini has forgotten how to play the game the mind boggles on how he use to destroy us as a Mariner and Smurf.

So from the above players we can see the system were playing is shyte and we don't have strong spine through the middle. The CB is an issue (although that can be fixed with a back 4 having Natta and Ziggy in the middle I believe). We don't have a true striker like a Jamie Maclaren, La Fondre or even Bruno Fonaroli who can bag more than 10 goals a season. And then the big problem since Nico Martinez we don't have a number 10 or true playmaker.

Posted

If Aquilina was a bit more clinical in his finishing I could see him playing more as a winger rather than a fullback. He's got pace, good with the ball at his feet and can hit a cross.
