That win will be brilliant for our confidence, and both games against this season we've smashed them at the start....now that we finally managed to hold on to a lead we shouldn't **** it up this time.

    Only concern is the travel.

The win mid week has given me a big boost in confidence, that might be misplaced as the ACL is very different to the HAL but I would rather feel this optimism than what I was feeling after the Adelaide game. And the boys must feel the same way, that dressing room after the Antlers game must have been the best it has been so far all season for smiles and good vibes. You could see at the end after the game they left the pitch walking that little bit taller, and sometimes it is all about confidence, losing becomes a habit and it eats away at you.

Even with a few players out I think we stand well placed to give ESFC a really good game, the win mid week couldn't have come at a better time.

It will be really physical of course, ESFC are dirty basterds, anyone know who the ref will be for the game as yet?

Would have been more concerned if we lost, the trip home won't have been nearly so bad after that.

I'm worried about the condition of the pitch.

Good point - does the pitch even have grass on it yet??

yes that last pieces of turf were laid last friday. One week to bed in...its not going to be pretty.

so it'll match our football

I said earlier this week its a well thought out plan to stifle the ESFC attack and piss off Graham Arnold. I personally think it will achieve both those objectives. :cheeky:

What I want and hope from this game -

    • A win of course
    • A dodgy penalty decision to go our away
    • An obvious penalty appeal for ESFC to be waved away
    • A red card for an ESFC player or two, add to suspensions for hopefully key ESFC players
    • Arnie to finally blow his top and be sent to the stands

Basically nothing short of totally shafting ESFC's season will do. I want them to see this game as the moment they went off the rails, well we can dream.

The Jets played a game at Hunter Stadium earlier this season less than 48 hours after the turf relaying was completed.  Wasn't a particularly good surface to play on though.

Western Sydney Wanderers striker Kerem Bulut could make his debut against his former club Sydney FC in the derby on Saturday night with the Football Federation of Australia set to accept his registration as an injury replacement player.

Previously registered only for the Asian Champions League, Bulut is now a chance to play his first ever A-League game against the club he spent two season with as a youth squad player. The Wanderers applied for Bulut to come into their domestic squad as a replacement for Brendon Santalab who suffered another long-term shoulder injury in last week's defeat to Adelaide. Santalab is unlikely to play again this season.

The FFA informed Fairfax Media the application has been received, will be approved and could be processed as early as Friday afternoon, deeming him eligible to make his Australian club debut against Sydney FC. All that is now required for Bulut to play are signatures on his registration papers which could be submitted as soon as the Wanderers land in Sydney on Friday.
