The team may have depth, but is the talent pool really that deep? I'm not at all convinced that the team is that strong on an individual basis. I mean, Bridge and Santalab are amongst our default 11! Sure they try, have experience and likely come cheap, but it isn't as though they set the world alight with their skill, or general attitude in the case of Santalab.

That all said, I'm well aware that the Wanderers' strength is the structure and work ethic of the collective unit, but of late I have started to wonder if some players, particularly one or two in defence, are up to scratch and capable of fulfilling their role in the team.

I hope that everything comes together like in season 1, but that doesn't mean that I won't complain every step of the way.

I fancy us more to come away with something  from Perth than I did against the Nix. The Nix are just one of those teams that will ***** us over every season no matter the situation, real bogey side.

Perf on the other hand even with their good start are beatable and I think they will fade away as the season progresses, I think come the back end of the season we may well be fighting with Perf for 5th or 6th position.

Last week I was hoping for a point..... this week I am expecting at least a point, and that would be a good start and a good way to go in to our first home game. With Bridge and Saba back that should give us what we were badly lacking over in NZ.

We've played 3 games out of 27 and the attitude is that we will be lucky to make the top 6?

To hell with that attitude!

And last year we lost away to Sydney and we lost away to Victory and we lost at home to the Nix so we are getting comparable results in reality..

Amen sister.

Victory away and Sydney away are two of the toughest games for any team on the calendar this year. Along with Adelaide, they are the three teams hardest to beat in 2014/2015 and we had them first up.

Throw in the always difficult trip to Wellington away, and we haven't had an easy draw.

Our A League campaign starts properly when we get back to Parramatta for 5 games on the bounce. Relax people, ffs.

Sorry, going to be the bad guy here, but cant afford any Trifiro rubbish for this match, was way too ordinary last week in a match he needed to take some control.

I think this one was pretty spot on, except Golec to Left back and Adeleke to DM.

Bouzanis
Alessi - Spira - Hamill - Golec
Poljak - Adeleke
Castelen - Saba - Bridge
Juric

Haliti, Ruka and Perkatis off the bench please. Cole will probably start at RB.

This is a must win to not go into panic mode over our 4 home games in a row.

They (Perth) may be a little deflated after their FFA Cup game, but they can still be a threat. We need to hit them down the middle and then send the wingers down with pace.

Saba can do this.

oh really?

sorry I didn't notice that..

Seems that Perth away seems to be the fixture Popa uses to rest his keeper..

im sure Tyson played in this fixture last year

I fancy bridgy to have a good game this week - might back him to grab a goal - hes due

??

Bridge is the only player to score for us this season lol

NTS isn't exactly slow but Hamill is surprisingly quick so I wouldn't be surprised if he spends a lot of the game staying tight on Keogh while Spira plays as the spare man at the back with the freedom to push on if the opportunity comes up.

Also as much as I like Alessi I wonder whether Cole would be a better choice marking Hersi. He's a bit quicker and more agile while an Alessi or Mullen (I'm assuming he's due for a rest) might struggle with Hersi's change of direction and his ability to milk free kicks off bigger markers.

Points are a must from this game. The depth of our squad will be tested and I imagine we will see a young bench.

I want to see Marty Lo get a run!!

Bouzanis

Alessi - Spira - Hamill - Adeleke

Poljak - Trifiro

Castelen - Saba - Bridge

Juric

But I usually get this wrong lol

Close.

I expect Cole to start at RB.

Adeleke should retain his spot, although, Popa may play Golec at LB & either Perkatis or even Seyi as a DM in place of Trifiro.

Its worth remembering that Mateo usually plays left sided DM, so Trifiro may get another chance playing right sided DM.

I also think Ruka starts on the bench & is used as an impact player, either wide left or centrally if Tomi is cooked.

BTW Marty was given a rest after 60 mins last Sunday as a precaution. Club are managing his workload.

I know you've made comments about Tomi's future but do you think it is wise to play him so much over the next few weeks shouldn't we ease him back in as opposed to using him every match. Labi is in great form at the moment, why not start him and bring Tomi off the bench if we need him? I also understand that Tomi probably wants to push himself to play as much as possible to put himself in the shop window for Europe!

Have you seen Adeleke playing DCM in training? I just find it odd that he has been used as a LB this whole time, even in youth league run outs, why would all of a sudden we switch this over and play him in DCM? Obviously I know he has played this position in Italy but not sure he'd play there unless he has been training in that position with the team. I'd much rather Yianni been given a chance if we don't go with tricky, didn't have his best game last week but the Nux game was his first 90 minutes since May!
