Anyone want a membership? Black category, close enough to halfway.

Seriously, I'm not impressed. I couldn't care less that we had a young team and that it was a good experience for them - this is a competitive professional sport, not a 5 a side game for teenagers out in Glenmore Park. The sooner the team settles, and we actually field a semi-competitive team, the better.

Sorry, im going to say it.

If your willing to throw your membership away after a bad run of games, we don't need you in our membership pool.

I hear Sydney FC is looking for more members.

No, I'm here for the long haul, even if it means driving 6 hours every fortnight for a serving of absolute rubbish. I'm just frustrated.

Lol at the negative posts.

Wanderers......(cue dramatic sky sports music) CLUB IN CRISIS!

We haven't conceded a goal at home for about 8 months and we now have some games at home. Let's not panic.

In fact let's take this opportunity to show who we are on wednesday night and pack the place and give the team 100% support. Don't go negative, don't get on the player's backs after every misplaced pass etc

Good performance in the end.

Alessi started nervously but finished brilliantly, great experience for him.

Sotirio also excellent.

I will support the team not matter what but that was a poor performance really. I can understand some of the changes but we needed to field a stronger line up if we expect to pick up points. As for Sotirio and Alessi, they were ok but not great.

Poor? I thought it was pretty good bar a few mishaps

We were attacking pretty well, I thought. Considering the line-up.

Yes it sucks to lose but it happened, we move on to the next game and try and win that one.

hersi ran a muck, zadkovich steadied their midfield as we were slowly getting back into it. They are top of the table but we lucky they didn't do more damage first half. Sitroro looking good

They were ordinary but did enough to make 2 set pieces count. We on the other hand should of bagged a fair few goals with the golden chances. Its a farking joke to hear the foxsports panel give opinions on why we losing when it clearly has to do with no consistency in the team lineups and our merrygo round defence every week. Get the full strength 11 on and give us what we want and that is to see a solid attacking and exciting team.

What I don't understand is, that tonight of all nights, we go into the game with a solid squad, but probably our weakest, when we need points.

Why do this?

I'm extremely unimpressed with the squad Popa put on the field tonight. And I thought this before the game started, so no hindsight anger here.

Perth did what they had to do, and they won't win the A-League this season. Yet, we have an infinitely better team and should have taken away the 3 points, yet we diced with danger with team selection policy.

There's only so long we can go with being patient with these type of team selections.

I think Popa ****ed up tonight.

For sure, it was a game that we should have brought home the 3 points.

If we field a full strength team and are beaten, then such is life. I just do not understand the logic of untried combinations, which may or may not work. Give the team a chance to settle. So much talent, poorly used.

Well we still have 24 games left to play in the regular season. Still a long way to go. I would rather drop some points now and storm home later.

I would however like popa to start playing our strongest team possible starting Wednesday night.

Wow some 'fans' have no idea. As much as I hate losing, I think it will do us good to clean out a lot of the band wagoners, even a few on this forum.

We fielded a very young and inexperienced team against a very much in form glory side. We conceded two goals from set pieces. On the bright side, we created a lot of chances, something that we haven't been doing in the last few games.

Everyone relax, move onto Wednesday night where we welcome our team home!

How are we bandwagon fans for suggesting a consistent team lineup when we can see that these weak lineups are what is costing us...i understand we had acl but how long can we use that as an excuse?? Perth and the phoenix were as ordinary as **** but banked 3 points against us due to the lineups we rolled out on both occassions. Can we please see Castellen, Saba, Ruka, Juric all on the same pitch? I see individual brilliance at times from each and it would be awesome to see them rip defences a new one. That is my main gripe with the past 4 aleague games apart from the victory the other sides were ordinary shite that were fortunant to bank points against us.

Come on guys, do you think Popa has been mulling over what he can do to annoy the fans?

"I know I'll start B-sides, that will really pi$$ 'em off".

I reckon he knows more than we do. Me anyway for sure!. Two weeks ago we became Asian Champions.

This is disappointing, no points, 4 games. Agree. But this season... it is far from over.

We seem to be conceeding a lot more goals this year as our defence is being rotated more so than in previous years. If we compare the smurfs they have kept a fairly consistent back 4 and it shows with the clean sheets. Anyway not much we can do about it but ffs lets get wednesday right as we need to bank a 6 pointer this week.

What's with putting such a young team when we needed points? This isn't an under 15 football where everyone gets a chance to play. We should be putting our strongest eleven for every match.

Predictable maybe... but I've never seen so much negativity directed against the team, and even Popa..

It would be more useful to see more posts like these ^^^^^^^^ from matty,  Nathg and Lloydy!!

We're better than the negativity shown here tonight!!

Remember where we came from in Season 1 !!

Agree but then again by playing these weaker lineups we have made everyone look like world beaters as they have beaten the "asian champions" with 8 team changes in the past 2 weeks. Just hope we get to see our best lineup tear the rest of this ordinary comp apart. Adelaide is probably the standout at the moment.

Get a grip mate.

- Who said Popa selects teams to annoy us fans?

- Who said he thinks "this will piss them off?"

- Who said he doesn't know more than us?

- Who said this season is over?

Your post was just idiotic.

I am sick of in Popa we trust. Obviously we are guaranteed 3 points on Wednesday night. Could have taken something from this game if we had some experience in the team. Throw the young guys to the wolves.

Sick of in popa we trust ?

Sick of finishing top of the table in our first season ?

Sick of 2 grand finals in our first 2 seasons ?

Sick of winning the ACL at the first attempt ?

I may be a bit drunk but With the greatest possible respect **** off you c.****

Yes Wendy I agree. The way some people panic when we lose I'd love to see how they handle themselves in an emergency. People on Facebook are about to sell their houses and any remaining assets and pack it all in

yeah, like it's a personal affront from the Wanderers to them. There will be times and days like these...

I'm completely against the rants after we lost. We played well. My semi-ESFC dad said while watching the game "this is the best I've seen them play in a while" and I don't think he's too far off. We had attacking opportunities, flair, we just lacked finish

Anyway, it's all mullens fault. Why can't he defend?

Link to comment

why did we get rid of beauchamp and dapuzzo to only replace them with shoddy defence?

Do you mean those guys that won the ACL?

Covic won us the ACL and Golec's cross....the rest was hang onto the edge of your seat for 190minutes 😂😂 and watch the ball hit posts and side netting. In all seriousness though polenz may have still been very valuable to the side.

I don't know how long the flight is to Perth but I'd imagine that playing a full strength line-up at Perth, and then flying home and playing again in four days at home in front of an expectant home crowd is tough.

Clearly Popa wants to prepare us best for the run of 4 straight at home.

If thats the plan then i hope that we profit with 12 points by the end of it. Another way of looking at it is that we have 27 games so 3 banks of 9 games assuming we clear this first bank and pick up 4 wins from it that would be a good result considering our distractions.

All these people demanding full strength lineups being played in Saudi Arabia then Wellington then three games in a week in Australia are doing my head in. We may have picked up more points but then people will be sooking when we inevitably start dropping points saying things like "that was a flat performance", "the boys look tired", "why won't Popa give the young guys a go?", "oh look, Juric is injured again."

We've got five home games in a row now. With no travel Popa can play strong lineups without having to worry as much about burning players out. I'd rather pick up a big pile of points here and have a fit and fresh squad then maybe pick up a few points over the last few weeks and have tired, injured players for the home games.
