If he's not hurt it's probably just him being behind Duke, Kamau and Ibini, with the other spot going for McDonald.

Is he really worth keeping if he's behind all of those players? Minimum wage squaddie, maybe.

Just been checking out the Premier League released list. Everton have released Australian youngster Con Ouzounidis. Is he any good? I think he is in the Olyroos squad so I'll probably keep an eye on him.

Julian Schwarzer got released from Fulham

I’d rather give Yeboah the flick, spend a bit more and bring in Berisha. He’s not gonna be at the level he once was but there is no better quality player for his age and market price. Plus he’s now an Aussie. Huge bargain IMO.

Bearish a is now a player you bring in to a successful squad that may have had an injury up front or lacking firepower for say 2 to 3 months, specific job stuff. That is where I see him now.

Not a go to season long main striker. But no doubt he could do a from the bench job for a few months still. But you would only bring him in for that cover / experience needed at that time.

This season Yeboah made 3 starts and 15 appearances off the bench, with an average of just under 30 mins per appearance.

Berisha made 20 starts and 3 off the bench, averaging just under 70 mins per appearance.

59 on FIFA, potential of 70

Maybe as a squaddie?

If he went through the Everton yoof system he’ll probably be ace in the A League. See Carney, David for example

Hughsey are you kidding :) Berisha is done mate finished

A bit like your bestie Carl hey...

Im talking as a squad/backup striking option. Name me a striker in that category who would be a better option?

We have backup strikers Yeboah, Ibini etc we need a proper 20 goal a season one that could be Berisha if Dr Who can help us out with some time travel

I love Berisha but his time has gone, it’s got desperate “judge me on the pitch mid season signing” all over it

On the thing about the Everton kiddie I’d love us to do some deal with Everton to partner on yoof dev

culture wise is a good match

Doesn't Everton have some partnership deal a few years ago with Central Coast Mariners?

I think they did nothing came of it. I guess the distance means it’s easier to farm the kiddies out to League 1 and 2 clubs

From memory they both did at different times. The Sheffield link was when Arnie was coach and the Everton link was more recent. From memory only a handful of players ever came out here, no one of note. And no Australian players went the other way.

Yeah but he got released, so can't be that good

The vast majority of youth players get released at bigger clubs. It'd take a long time for him to ever get minutes so he's better off trying his luck in a lower league. Doesn't mean he wouldn't be decent at A-league level.

I think Robbo has a far better chance of winning the A league next year than Berisha  scoring more than 2 goals and he has no speed anymore so he can’t offer much in attack of the ball these days .

keep McDonald if your looking for a 20 minute player

Carney got released after his yoof contract, he had a decent career afterwards, the standard to make it is very high, plenty of Everton youth system off casts have gone on to good careers in championship etc

If he’s gone through that youth setup but not made senior team cut, he might not be EPL star but likely a level or two higher than a similar age player in the a league

Pretty sure he captained the youth team too so he'd be no mug. Would be curious whether he makes the squad and plays at the Olympics for the Olyroos.

I rather have Berisher,   Mc Donald is short and very slow now

If you want a 20 min player then use yeboah or give one the kiddies a go

I don’t know what our obsession is with signing players that aren’t good enough to start

Let’s get a 20 goal a season sexual goal slotter

McDonald thanks for the derby strike but he’s past it, and so don’t think Berisha is far behind

City sign Leckie to go with McClaren we are trawling through season 2016 YouTube clips

We can go for Berisha in the mid season transfer window when we are coming ninth and Carlo is telling us about fine margins etc

We also keep talking about a 20 goal a season striker when we've never had one. Admittedly Riera could've been that with decent players around him.

Can only assume it is either our scouting or wages as they're rare as hen's teeth.

Not keen on Berisha, S Mac, Yeboah or even Ibini for that matter, hope the scouting is going flat out atm for a bloody good centre forward, I know it's a hard task finding one but would prefer a fresh new face that has scored well elsewhere, a first season Riera type.

If we do lose Baccus and Kamau, I'd like to see us bring in 2 foreign strikers and a foreign attacking midfielder. Ibini and Yeboah off the bench, and if we don't resign Yeboah, then promote Auglah (as StringerBellend has suggested). Troisi can cover the three midfield positions (Dorrans, Ugarkovic and new AM) as needed. As good as Ziggy has been, I'd rather we replace him with a commanding foreign centre back, with Tass and Natta playing either side. If we could get a high quality Aussie attacking player in place of one of the 3 foreigners (e.g., Amini or D Petratos), then keep Ziggy as a right wingback.

Berisha only looks bad this season cause he’s playing in a side who’d struggle in my local Prems comp. His movement off the ball and instinct around the box is second to very few still. I watched him closely when he last played at Bankwest and he’s still a huge threat, he just needs proper service which he didn’t come close to getting that night.

Of course he’s not going to be our starting striker but off the bench I think he’s a great option. Even if he can impart his wisdom in our young guys - he is IMO the prolific goal scorer in Aleague history.

If I have to watch another season of Yeboah and Ibini coming on fresh and standing stagnant, 5m offside, calling for the ball whenever we break in attack, I’ll scream...
