This is going to be upgraded to a Hurricane by Sunday midday. The wind will be howling, it will be rain down cats, dogs and battle axes, and hail corns as big as footballs.

I was just thinking this, a 'mild' shower will turn into a monsoon of biblical proportions.

Who remembers that apocalyptic storm last season when we played city at home

Fed to be struck by lightning and bag a hat trick

Yep, or the ACL match when we lost to a late goal (as if that ever happens these days right ;)) when everyone in Sydney was building an ark or the game against Perth when the game was delayed because we went from 40C at 3pm to a white covered pitch at 5, that looked like we were playing in Siberia. That was Perth too... (as was the infamous RBB v rozzers stoush)

Rain coming to more than 80% of drought-affected Australia

    Rob Sharpe, Thursday October 29, 2015 - 12:26 EDT

A widespread rain event is developing across Australia, with good falls on the way to the east and south.

Australia has endured a hot and dry start to spring, exacerbating the drought conditions that are persisting in parts of all states. Thankfully in the past couple of weeks moisture levels have been increasing across the nation due to fairly consistent easterly winds in Queensland. Moisture will then pick up in the west of the country, helping produce a widespread rain event.

At the moment there are a series of low pressure troughs across the nation, producing showers and storms, but today and tomorrow falls should be fairly isolated. During the weekend the troughs will combine and deepen in the east, with heavy falls spreading across western Queensland and New South Wales and parts of Victoria.

On Sunday a low and trough will spread across the west of the nation, before slowly moving east through the working week. On Tuesday this system will be bringing rain and storms across the Kimberley, much of the Northern Territory and South Australia, whilst the other trough continues to produce storms in NSW.

The two systems will combine their energies on Wednesday and Thursday, with rain and storms spreading across the north and east of the nation, including Tasmania.

By next Friday rainfall should affect the vast majority of the nation's drought-affected areas.

In QLD, the northwestern quarter of the state should see 5-15mm widespread, with isolated falls of 30mm. Southern QLD should also see 10-20mm across most areas, whilst the far west and northeast of the state will be a bit drier.

NSW will fare the best, with the entire state likely to see some rain. The southern and central slopes and ranges are due to see the heaviest falls in the nation, widespread 50-150mm, with isolated heavier weekly totals.

VIC, the southern half of SA and the southern districts of WA are all due to receive widespread rain of 10-30mm with only isolated pockets getting less.

The only areas that should be dry during the coming week are the northwestern quarter of WA, the QLD tropics and northeastern NT. Hopefully this widespread rain event will serve our farmers well.

For some reason tickets are selling very slowly in the east stand.  About 20 so far today.

Is it because of the continual announcements of "sell outs" over the past two seasons, so people just assume not many tickets will be available, or do you think it is lack of interest due to the 3/31 scenario?

Every A League club has Wanderers players except for the Wanderers. Other than S3 TOD I have found it hard to get excited about a game v Perth so may many others. Then again we may finally click come Sunday and that would be worth watching.

Waiting for Covic and Tyson to head out for the warm up... but at the RBB end... and are like "wha...?"

... and then look up the other end....repeat!

I wonder if our new goalkeeping coach has noticed that our current custodian can't kick a ball

I eat, sleep and breath WSW. I bleed red through my black veins. I get excited about every game....We have a team representing our community and it's values, results are secondary but that is just me... :woah:

Each to their own I suppose... :smurfnono:

    • First order of off season business should be evaluating the purpose and direction of the academy. As much as it’s become a source of humour, the construction of playing fields is its only output.  There’s little alignment between the academy and first team recruitment. Young players are just plugging holes. The fact several young players made up the bulk of the side against vuck was a happy coincidence rather than a strategic decision.  The club aren’t selling young players by the bucket load, nor are they breeding them in the first team in bulk. Then on the other side of the equation, we aren’t recruiting quality senior level players/foreigners. Most clubs prioritise one or the other, we seem to do neither.
    • So, award night come and gone, and the sydney united pied piper is still around. Enjoy the ride, fellas, it has been a pleasure talking to you. I am sure someone will let me me know if or when Rudan FC reverts back to being WSW.
    • He's contracted at Incheon United until December 2024 as the K-League seasons usually run from Ferbuary to November. However, that means nothing these days as players can ask for a mutual agreement termination.
