Sithslayer1991 Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 I think Staj may go to Western United. And yea I think he may have asked for money to improve the squad and the owner said no, that is disappointing if your Mariners supporter. EmMac 1

sonar Posted June 17, 2021 Posted June 17, 2021 If you are a Mariners supporter you could be excused for asking WTF !. The guy takes them from last to third and then leaves even though he had a contract still to run. Will be interesting to find out why. Can see a lot of players wanting to go. Midfielder Posted July 13, 2021 Posted July 13, 2021 OK, here we go. Aren't we lucky that MC did not find a buyer? Before you call the men in their little white coats with the padded van, consider what we have and what we want. We are unique in the whole A-League. We are the smallest club, we are a regional club, we are small and we have a great development programme. We have a roadmap to fan ownership. After many years of trying the philosophy of MC and the Club has been shown to work. Whether that came about by choice or necessity is immaterial. We have finally started getting the right people in the right places and the results show a massive efficiency result in dollar terms. We are developing exciting youngsters, whose progression and success is far more thrilling and satisfying than buying overpriced (even skilful) overseas players looking for a transition to retirement in the sun. We have seen what selective use of experienced players can bring to the development philosophy as a whole. I would rather see one Marco than any two journeymen no matter how skilful. WE ARE A MODEL FOR THE FUTURE OF FOOTBALL IN AUSTRALIA. Our model is the best way to build a strong national team. We are not expected to do well. The buzz when we do well ….that buzz cannot be beaten. There will be more tough times and trials ahead in terms of results. However where would you rather be? Supporting Sydney or Melbourne City where the season is a failure if you do not buy the silverware? Last season has shown me what is possible, and we have kept a lot of the side together. I know where I want to be. COYY

Midfielder Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 Great news on expanding the COE ... and a bit on the purchasing of the rights to Gosford stadium... Listen to the NBN link... https://www.nbnnews.com.au/2020/11/24/plans-to-expand-mariners-hq/
Midfielder Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 Just a tad more on the COE. https://www.yourvoiceourcoast.com/asp 7 land parcels on Wyong Road Tuggerah with environmental zoning, to be sold to the Mariners FC who plan to continue to maintain and manage this green space as part of a Hotel development.
mack Posted July 22, 2021 Author Posted July 22, 2021 They're small plots right next to the roadway that are environmental zoned so aren't likely to be worth much money.
Midfielder Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 For those that don't know there have been expansion plans into the council for quite a few years now and they have been held back by council wanting lots of changes to the road network and constantly changing their minds on what they want. The above will hopefully allow another phase of the COE to be developed. Again for those that don't know here area couple of vids on the COE, and what it looks like now... the first one is in part a selling vid for people to lease or buy at the COE but it does show the swimming centre, gym, five a side fields and the two playing fields... with some good overhead shots.. a tad over 2 minutes... The second shorter one shows lots of overheads and some good views of the five a side and two playing fields...

mack Posted July 26, 2021 Author Posted July 26, 2021 If they use him properly (as a left inside forward not a makeshift attacking mid playmaker) he could score 10+ goals.
Sithslayer1991 Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 I can see yet another WSW former playing haunting us

Yep, although I also think he could have scored 10+ goals for us regardless of position. Who knows what happened with CR, he started the season well and then wasn't seen again
Midfielder Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 Rumour mill running hot the last couple of days and another older WSW player is rumoured to be on his way... Baumjohann is the current rumour along with RT has signed and Noah Smith from AU. If true we could shape up with a Dimond shaped midfield, Ollie as the deep sitting 6, Nizz & Stens as the work your arse off 8's with Baumjohann as the creative 10 .... This would be our likely set up if rumours are correct, would still love a fast striker... ------------------Birra--------------------- Hall---Ruon?---Rowles----Noah Smith? ----------------Ollie--------------- ----Nizz-----------------Stens--------- ------------Baumjohann------------- --------Urena---------Muller
MathyouWSW Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 (edited) No Matt Simon?! That'll make some of the Mariners fans angry, Middy. In regards to fast strikers, would you want a youngster like Jordan Swibel, Mirza Muratovic or Luke Ivanovic? (I think Ivanovic is off to Brisbane Roar anyway). I think Muratovic would be a great fit at the Mariners. Heck, it wouldn't even bother me if he came to the Wanderers. I think he is a great player. Edited July 27, 2021 by MathyouWSW

Matty has signed for another year but I think [hope] he is not the best we have ... I like what the backs and Defensive mids are looking like... Urena & Muller up from if we play 4 - 4 - 2 will be interesting ... both internationals but very much on the older side of things... whether Baumjohann playing behind them [assuming the rumours are right] as a creative 10 is wise I am not sure ... he is not the best defensive player ... but then again do you want your 10 to be a great defensive player or someone who can close down space... However would still like a tad more pace up front ... we have only lost DDS in players we wanted to keep and that has not happened in years ... again assuming rumours that Ruon has signed ...
