Old mate played 20 years as a striker and averaged 7 goals per season.

Yeah I'm hoping that we don't need to find another GK now.

We’ll find a replacement for Margush no worries

Hi guys. Did anyone hear that Younis is leaving?

Haven't heard anything since the Adelaide rumours in January. He's contracted for next season. Olan Tekkers, who's big on social media around here and does some work for A League and the club, done a JD Sports interview with him and reckons that he'll be here next season (wasn't confirmed in the interview, but through chatting with Olan myself). So unless something drastic happens, hopefully he'll still be here.

What would people think if Younis was sold overseas for a transfer fee?

Disappointed.

He needs one more season and this upcoming he needs to be getting more minutes.

Then, if he is moved overseas, I'd be happy.

I worry less about a transfer fee and more about him going somewhere he'll improve and not burn out and end up coming back to Australia after 1 season.

Yep.

I tend to think that also Garang Kuol and Irakunda have gone too early.......like Arzani did.

I feel these guys would be better served if they had one or two full senior seasons where they are starters and play 90 min than cameos off the bench or play 60 min or less.

On to more positive issues - this is a short wish list based on Aussie's with expired/expiring contracts

Brad Smith - LB - We need a LB. Clisby aint it. Smith and Mila would be a great pairing down the left
Jake Brimmer - CAM - He's looked pretty darn good despite a horrific knee injury. Absolutely wasted under Popa
Harrison Delbridge - CB - Decent results in K1. Needs to be next to a Marcelo or similar player. Best aussie CB on the free agency market right now
Reno Piscopo - LM/LW/CAM - Looks dangerous on the ball at all times. Similar to Brimmer he's had a shocker knee injury but lifted Jets attack whenever he's on the pitch
Curtis Good - CB - He's likely off to India, but you wouldn't say no. Only issue is his injury record sucks
Tyrese Francois - CM - His ceiling looked to be very high 4 years ago. He's played just 22 professional games at 23. A-League might be his level, and he'd be awesome behind the likes of Brimmer
Ajdin Hrustic - CAM - Easy choice if our staff think they can keep him fit
Jason Geria - RB/CB/LB - Can play across the back line. You'd grab him if we cant find another CB, but probably no better or worse the Cleur
Jason Davidson - LB/CB - Played 15 games or so at CB in Belgium plus another 10 at LB/LM. Massive step up on Clisby or a mainstay CB next to Marcelo or similar
Nectar Triantis - CB - He's still contracted to Sunderland but if we end up with Monte we could definitely get him on a season loan from Sunderland. A small fee

We still have 4 foreign spots with Hendrix, Marcelo and Kittel gone.

Lots of decent Aussie options on the list above plus a few more I couldnt be f-ed to look at because scotch...

Do you know for sure that Hendrix and Marcelo are gone?

Absolutely no clue.

Both Hendrix and Marcelo's contracts are finished and the club has said nothing about extensions.

I'm not too concerned about Marcelo, but Hendrix is a long term cornerstone for the club at only 29. However as of now, I have to assume he gone considering his contract has been fulfilled

Eh, im a little sad about this one. I know most on this forum wanted him gone, but his first 8 or so games for us were bloody brilliant. He's never been great defensively but he was dynamic in attack. I recall he got benched to give Tommy Aquilina some time, and after that he never really looked the same. His performances have taken a huge dive off a cliff since his ACL injury. In my head he's still 19, completely whiffed on the fact he's 24. He should be showing much more at that age. We have zero need for Tate with Simmo and Cleur in the picture.

Wish him all the best

This. Really wanted him to kick on after that first season, appeared to have so much promise.

Stringer driving him to the airport.

I feel bad that Im so down on him. He always tries hard.

But he's not a A League quality footballer. Hopefully at Western United he smashes it and proves me wrong.

Clearly the knee injury was a tragedy and he lost a lot of development time and hasn't been the same player since.

Although, to get always looked like he was behind in the foundations, his first touch and passing is poor.

Yeah I can't disagree with this; surprised that he got that 3 year contract though.

I think I speak for everyone when I say "Yeah, you can have him"

One down.

Clisby, Pierras, Brillante still to go.

Antonsson isn't in the cap, so easier to get rid of.

Yep and it doesn't say good stuff about the a league that he gets a gig at another club.

If at his age his first touch is so bad it ain't going to get fixed.

It was his lack of awareness which disappointed me the most...you'd think it would have improved with more games under his belt
