All games are a must win from here onwards.

Yep got to keep things rolling along. Otherwise final few games we start getting in to situations like needing a certain amount of points from final few games and being reliant on others dropping points.

I still feel it is in our own hands at this point.

Watched the Perth v WU game. We have more skill up front than WU had to offer yet they still managed to push Perth in the 2nd half. If the WSW team that plays Perth is the same one in respect of putting in for 90 min as the derby and the WU game we will win.

If Kilkenny is out for Perth then that is massive plus for us. Perth away is always difficult but we need a result here every match is crucial. A win puts us 2nd place (pending other results)

Anyone going over? My eldest will be there as he's visiting our WA relatives with my wife and he was stoked when he realised he was going to be able to get to the game...my wife was less enthusiastic!

last night's results were interesting as games in hand were used up, CCM and Roar only draw, Perth winning and WU in a matter of under a week blow their games in hand  advantage out of the water.

Outside Mel City right down to Perth now, that's one hell of a log jam and many scenarios could yet take place, this will be the most interesting end to a season in many a year, form is absolutely critical now!

Six points between second and ninth. If we win all our remaining games we could realistically finish second, get a week off then a home final, which is crazy. Lose a few and we could match last seasons ninth placed finish.

The way the FFA have decided things, finishing 2nd is better than winning the Grand Final as it means qualifying for the ACL which Grand Final winners no longer do.

So many sides have been rocks and diamonds. Even city went through a period at the start of the season where they were average. The only consistent sides have been MV and the Jets who have been consistently **** lol I think the COVID related scheduling resulting in a variety of short and long spells between games hasn’t helped the situation. It’s been to our advantage really cause any other season I don’t think we’d be anywhere close to the top 6 having played how we have for the majority of the season.

Hmm, for this fixture (Perth away) - the historic stats don't look good

HBF Park - Perth vs WSW

    Played: 11

    WSW - 2 wins, 3 draws, 6 losses

Our last win against Glory in Perth was February 22nd, 2014

    0 - 2 (Poljak 12" and Juric 70")

The draws against Jets and Wellington, plus the losses to Adelaide and Brisbane hurt now

What's happened to Wilmering? No mention of him.

iirc he has problems with his knee swelling...?

Most probably the club making sure it doesn't go the same way that Zeigler's did.

He didn't get listed as moving out of the squad for WU so who knows what's happened.

If McGowan starts we'll loose this one. I'd be curious what our win rate is with him on or off the field.

When he plays we get 1.14 points per game, which is the lowest in our squad apart from Grozos who has played 1 game...

    Ziegler in then

    My calcs could be wrong

    With Ziegler sans McGowan

    Points 11 games 6

From the line ups, the only time Ziegler and McGowan played together was when Natta was suspended

This was the game I was supposed to go to next week  You know, the game I specifically booked a trip to Perth to watch. Chunts.

Anyways, I won’t see the Wanderers but will see quokkas, so it’s not all bad.    That is, unless McGowan (Mark, not Dylan :P) decides the dirty, COVID-riddled peasants from the East aren’t welcome in his State.

I watched Ziegler in four games he played for 90 minutes (Vic home, Reds away, and the last two rounds) and he was solid in each time. The vic away debacle seems to say more about McGowan than Ziegler. I hope we’ve seen the last of McGowan.

2 are to be omitted from the squad and I wouldn't be surprised if it's Yeboah and McGowan that get omitted.

However, I could be wrong and Robinson may use them as this could be the game where we see him rest a few players like Duke, Kamau and Troisi so that they are ready for the Sydney derby next week.

Either way, the squad should get the three points.

Why rest them ?    we have been playing weekly games they should be able to handle that work load , they are professional soccer players who by now should be at peak fitness.

What we need is as much game time with mostly the same players (baring injury) to continue to develop their team work.
