DinoPresinger
Hammil is the only one who I really don't want us to part with. If he goes to ESFC he'll be getting a song and I won't be very complimentary TehSmileyBandit and GunnerWanderer 2 Link to comment
luisenrique
If he's getting a big payday overseas then fair enough, he's got the skillz to play at a higher level. Hopefully not going to another A-League club though, if he's going anywhere. Link to comment
Lookers
Although did assist the first goal, he was a massive liability in defence last night. Couldn't contain Janko. Still love his baby face. Link to comment

tardotz
Both Hamill and Covic had a bad day and unfortunately it was against the smurfs, but cannot be too hard on them as they have been good up to Saturday. As long as they are back to normal by Wednesday then all is forgiven. EmMac and DinoPresinger 2 Link to comment
tardotz
Looks like Hamill will be out for a while as the injury is due to a tear. Link to comment
Unlimited
So I guess Golec is going to get more game-time. Will be interesting though, if Spira or NTS is out, surely Golec comes to play at CB and not La Rocca? Link to comment
JohnHancock
You'd think given how much La Rocca has been neglecting his DM duties lately (admittedly he's scored a couple in doing so), Popa is unlikely to ask him to play at CB - although I guess with Hamill out and Golec deputising for Cole for the rest of the season, if Spira is injured we really don't have any other options. Golec seems a reasonable alternative for NTS but La Rocca can at least stand a chance of bringing the ball out of defence - something Golec doesn't have the technical ability to do. Link to comment
WestSyd
It's a pretty grim picture when Golec is your next replacement centre back. Even Hamill has been a liability in the past month or so. Without Spiranovic or Topor Stanley there, our defence looks shaky. I would go for La Rocca simply because when he has played there before he seems to have managed well enough. The other option is to give a young guy a go and see how he goes. We have nothing to lose at this stage and it would be good to see if any younger player is up to it. BrightSpark
Out for seasonSource? I think this has also been discussed in the squad development thread, but here is the source - http://m.smh.com.au/sport/soccer/western-sydney-wanderers/season-over-for-western-sydney-wanderers-defender-brendan-hamill-20150306-13xfpw.html Link to comment

No rhetoric from Popa or the club saying season over. Link to comment
JohnHancock
Headline on SMH: Season over for Western Sydney Wanderers defender Brendan Hamill Hopes of the Western Sydney Wanderers hauling themselves off the bottom of the A-League table and defending their Asian Champions League triumph have been dealt a major blow with defender Brendan Hamill sidelined for the rest of the year. "We've just got some scans confirmed and unfortunately it's a lot worse than what we first thought. We were hoping it was just a cork to the quad but the scans revealed it was a pretty major tear," Saying it was a quadricips tear and a pretty major one would put the time-frame at a month before he's even thinking about coming back, two or more if it's a more normal recovery time and we're talking about getting back onto the pitch instead of just exercise routines. Given that it's the 9th March today - yeah, he's out for the season. Also, quad and hamstring tears are usually a sign of inadequate warm-up or recovery times - we can all guess at which one happened here. Thanks FFA! ManfredSchaefer
Re-signed Brendan for 2 more seasons... Not a bad extension IMHO. Perhaps we may see he and Aspro as our core CB pairing when 2015/16 kicks into gear Wobblies, theguyyouwishyouwere, DinoPresinger and 2 others 5 Link to comment
Zelinsky
Excellent news. I actually thought he might be off, and I am glad he isn't. He was instrumental in us winning the ACL, and afterwards, like everyone else, was struggling somewhat in the league. We are yet to see the best of him. Prydzopolis
I echo these sentiments, I thought he was the one going to ESFC but so glad he isn't! He is young but also someone that can take over the hole left by Spira's potential transfer & then take over from NTS if he moves on to greener pastures. tardotz, Nathg, Horus and 1 other 4 Link to comment
