Tomi Mrcela posted an insta story today of the window of a plane with the caption "wheres next?'

Hasnt been getting many minutes at his current club in Uzbekistan, so maybe hes on the way out there?

Would 100% take him back especially with the our current CB situation.

No brainer, gutted he left in the first place.

Marcelo just posted a story on Instagram. He is golfing at Elite Golf NSW with the caption "If you can't run, let's work our putting!" He has no strapping on his leg, so doesn't seem to be a serious injury. But since he isn't running, I assume he may miss a couple of weeks.

We do have Beadling and Jorrit. After that second half performance with Jorrit at the back, don't think that pairing would be an issue if marcelo out for a few weeks

Yep. Also, Bonetig is back to full team training either this week or next week, so should be back playing next week you would imagine.

True, yeah, it depends if they push him before christmas game or hold off till new years day game I reckon

Before a ball was kicked this season, I had major concerns for our "squad development".

The failure to land the 2 remaining visa spots, as well as the loss of some real gun players, had me thinking we'd be languishing at the bottom of the ladder.

We've now lost Borello and Marcelo, and old mate Ninko seems to have fallen apart.

Yet, I feel that this team has some fight about it, and the youngsters are looking very promising.

When we make the Grand Final vs Victory, in Melbourne at season's end, I predict that this young team could win us that elusive toilet seat 😉

According to the Keep up podcast Marcelo's injury is achilles related but not serious. I think the club is still assessing when the return date will be. Its unclear if he will be available for this week.

According to his Instagram story from yesterday, he isn't running, so highly doubt he'll be available for 1-2 weeks.

Fingers crossed that is the way it is. RBTV also mentioned the Achilles didn't tear off "but was hanging on" which isn't the greatest use of those words. Hopefully its just bruised or swollen and needs a bit of rest.

To think we could have been Primo Western Sydney Wanderers

Next week's game is against Alfoil utd

Even worse, we could have been known as Western Sydney Pride, had the Westie spirit not come to the fore at the fan forums in 2012.

The January transfer window will be crucial in determining whether we press on & challenge for a title, or slowly regress under Rudan & fall out of contention, with barely a whimper.

Technically there was a Westie Spirit once before when West Sydney Razorbacks changed their name to Sydney Spirit

Still remember the collective groan in the riverside theatre when that was suggested. I think Ray Richards was there but I'm not sure if it was him or someone else who said that.

I was abroad when the club got formed on holidays in The Balkans. Only found out about the club via txts from family back in Parramatta region. So can't confirm or deny this occurred

It was definitely Ray Richards who bought it up, in Parramatta. SBS somehow got this confused into thinking it was the FFA's "preferred" name and wrote a dumb article on The World Game.

i mean it had started a long time bfore that, but round about that patch in particular I remember how bitter they seemed to be and they'd burnt a bunch of bridges or downsized or something or both and so their articles were just trash based on hearsay.

Similar applies to when 442 changed its name in Australia
