Well, the jury have made their decision. The judge has decided that it doesn't need to be a complete decision by the jury.

* WSF - All agreed that Archie Thompson should not be a part of any future coverage. - Infinity and Beyond.

* Wendybr + 1 for Archie Thompson.

Jury dismissed.

Archie, you are hereby sentenced to as many years as possible of not commentating on football in Australia.

Yep!!

Seriously, Porridge was one of the funniest tv shows ever. Ronnie Barker was at his best.

Simply brilliant.

Unfortunately, it feels like us WSW's fans have been doing Porridge all season.

Cornthwaite is very observant but his voice drives me crazy. It’s like listening to a little kid try and purposely put on a deeper voice.

What we obviously need is like what they do in England where they have a dedicated live team channel where those commentating are often fans..

So my suggestion is Mack branches WSF out in to the online TV world and let some heros here battle it out..:D

Who wouldnt pay to say for example listen to FCB commentate and drop a German comparison in to every ******* line....

Hope so. If Simon doesn’t get a gig he may as well pack his bags and leave Australia like he said he might have to a little while back.

if Simon is on board then they will get my subscription fee for sure.

Why was Simon hill let go or left Fox ?

Combination of budget cuts and some of the management not liking him.

He didn't like the way Fox Sports were shitting on the A-League and allowing NRL/AFL code war articles without anyone from the football side to response, all to try and reduce the value of the league before the rights renewal.

Why is it they insist in viewing us as consumers/customers - WE'RE F******NG FANS. Consumers can be bought, a true fan can never be; we see right through that sh*t.

It is not a F**$*&#NG product - IT IS A SPORT WE HAVE TO LOVE WATCHING AND BEING PART OF IT.

If they are here to make money from fans, then they're doomed. Make money from sponsors, govt. grants, not fans you d*#**heads........   (end_of_rant)

"But most importantly it's about engaging the consumer, which is the fan, and ultimately our game suffered I think from too much stakeholder management, not enough obsession for what fans are looking for and that's our focus.

"Ensuring that we understand our fans better, understand what they like and that we serve them content and product they really love. That's what football's all about, enjoying the game, and ensuring that they're getting to engage in it the way that they like."

That sort of corporate  BS language is unfortunately widespread....even in education. From the upper echelons.

Yes...it's awful.

I don’t know let’s

touch base on this, we can take a helicopter view to best identify synergies, and ensure we have right go forward approach to balance our strategic customer experience goals, while addressing low hanging fruit...

Adam Peacock and  Bozza said thanks and goodbye to Kozzie after the game tonight, in case Brisbane don't play in the finals in Queensland.

It was sad.

I'll  be in a minority here, but I'll feel really sad to see the Foxtel A League commentary team disbanded tbh.

You’re not alone 👍

despite what people think of fox they supported the game for 15 years ploughing hundred of millions into the game. Particularly when the league started and no one supported it they did and despite what many others think the $60 mil they paid per season last deal was clearly at the top end of value and now it’s effectively cut in half.

The main issue most have is that it appears to me and others; over last 2 years fox appeared to sabotage the code at times I guess to lower the rights value - they basically just covered the lives games and that was it nothing more.

Both parties should just shake hands and say thanks for the 15 years and move on, reality is people like speedy slater and peacock are well paid and will find others gigs easily. If not stay with Fox in other capacity.

There will be probably be 100’s behind the scenes that lose their jobs and might not find similar paying jobs so easily - there is nothing to celebrate about that. People with families and mortgages to pay.
