Apparently anything with potential to go over 4 weeks get referred to an other board. We aren't seeing him for at least 5 games me thinks

I think 5 weeks is ridiculous. Yeah, he put someone in a headlock for 2 seconds, but he didn't try to choke them out. He didn't punch someone in the face or inflict any injury to someone. 3 should be plenty, but will probably get 4 because of his previous red card, which wasn't even violent conduct.

It’s crazy if he gets a big ban. He just grabbed someone. The only reason it’s a red is because it was around the head, not the nature of the contact. If he’d grabbed an arm or around the body with the same force nobody would be talking about it.

I’d argue Yeni’s red in the derby was worse as he actually hit someone (as weak at it was).

He is charged with 3 separate incidents of violent conduct which I think is silly because it was all part of the same incident. They must be calculating a week or two for each incident.

I think Marcelo needs to wake up to himself , he is no good to us sitting up in the stands  no matter how good he is he needs to be on the park , and if he cops 5 to 6 weeks it will seriously jeopardise the good work up to now with genuine potential to win a grand final.

I agree, dont get me wrong. They're just trying to stomp out the face grabbing and choking stuff. It's super antagonistic and he was the 3rd man in. I don't agree it should be a long suspension, I just wont be surprised if it is

A few weeks back the same referee, Shaun Evans, gave Sydney FC's Burgess only a yellow for a similar incident against the Nux to what Marcelo did.  Burgess wrapped his arm around his opponent so they couldn't get away, then shoved his forehead into his opponents face - tbh it was close to a headbutt.  Evans then proceeded to red card the guy who was grabbed and couldn't get away.  He's made some very, let's call them interesting, calls recently.

Who is the Referee  knowing the control body they will throw Shaun Evans in just to piss us off, the building industry needs bricklayers hope he thinks there is more money in laying bricks.

This league could nearly do with only 2 or 3 Referees if they are professionals , Aliraza Furgani should be in charge of them.

I agree with other posters that 5 weeks or similar is ridiculous (he deserves 2 imo), but whatever the amount, you are 100% correct. This is fresh off his awful tackle against CCM that was lucky not to cost us. He needs to be better.

And lets be honest, its not the first time he's put someone in a headlock. I count this as a third game this season he's done it. The tackle I can forgive, CBs will cop those occasionally.
