Is there a way for fans to voice our support in the mass directly to the players?

I'm only putting this out there because I want our players to know i support them.

The players that got red cards cannot play until the AFC Disciplinary Committee hears their case.

    68.  Players and/or Officials cautioned or dismissed from the field of play

    g)  Any Player and/or Official who is Sent Off or dismissed during the Competition shall remain suspended from further play until their case has been decided by the AFC Disciplinary Committee.

If the referee made an adverse report about Lippi after the game then I believe he would continue with his duties until the matter is dealt with by the AFC Disciplinary Committee.

    Rumour regarding the match:

A Risk Assessment on the situation is being conducted right now by the club, and should the risk be of a great concern, they will request the AFC play the game behind closed doors, or at a neutral venue, considering the death threats that continue to plague the Quarter Final Tie.

The hosting club is required to have a "detailed and highly relevant security plan" in place based of FIFA's Safety Guidelines so any potential issue should already be covered.

I think the atmosphere for this game will be totally toxic, the players will be so up for it and they are going to be really dangerous in terms of attacking play and pressing us. If that wasn't enough the crowd are going to be booing whistling our possession with special treatment for Saba and la rocca which will make this another mountain to climb.

Also in terms of the match, 1-0 first leg home win doesn't mean much to me, it is all how we play in this second leg. I noticed how fragile there defence was even in the first half (of the first leg) when we were dominated, so I feel a result, even a goal in the second leg is not beyond us. Don't be fooled, this will be one of the toughest matches in our very short history, if we thought our win against sanfrecce was punching above our weight well this one will be on another level. Just another barrier and mountain that popa and the players keep on climbing over and lifting the expectation of the fans of how great we can be and how far we can go as a club.

Italian coach Marcello Lippi was provisionally suspended for one match for his behaviour during the spiteful midweek AFC Champions League quarter-final first leg between Western Sydney Wanderers and Guangzhou Evergrande.

Lippi will not be allowed to coach his team when the two teams meet in the return leg at Tianhe Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Asian Football Confederation announced Lippi is provisionally suspended for one match.

An AFC statement read: "Guangzhou Evergrande head coach Marcello Lippi will serve a provisional one-match suspension following his indiscretion during the team's 0-1 defeat at the AFC Champions League quarter-finals first leg meeting against Western Sydney Wanderers in Sydney.

"The former Italian national team manager has been provisionally suspended in accordance with Article 129 of the AFC Disciplinary Code after he entered the field of play to confront the match referee Mohammed Abdulla Hassan (UAE) in the dying stages of the quarter-finals first leg match following the sending-off of a second Guangzhou player.

"The chairman of the AFC disciplinary committee decided that Lippi had purportedly displayed unsporting behaviour, an offence under Article 57 of the AFC Disciplinary Code, as well as indiscipline under Article 69 of the AFC Champions League Competition Regulations 2014.

"Lippi will therefore not be allowed to sit in the continental champion's dugout at the return leg to be played on 27 August in Guangzhou. The final decision of the AFC disciplinary committee will be issued following the completion of a full investigation. The Chinese Football Association has been notified of the decision."

Incensed Lippi claimed after the match that he tried to apologise to the referee for his behaviour but he was not allowed to see him.

Lippi could also be sanctioned for his strong criticism of the referee's performance at the post-match press conference.

Wanderers midfielder Vitor Saba also claimed that after the match Lippi accused him of getting Lin sent off by faking injury and wanted to fight him.

    • I'll preface this by saying everyone is always welcome here, but to be honest you've been pretty sharp with people in here too. Even going to far as to accuse a certain poster of spreading silly 3rd hand rumours. That same individual was someone who previously regularly had the CEO of the club over to their house for dinner, a pretty well informed person.  This is off season on the WSW forum. Specifically the squad development thread turns into a complete crap shoot for 5 months. Absolutely nothing is achieved and we refuse to be serious. I encourage you to join in the stupidity and not resist it. It's an excellent way to pass one of the worlds longest off seasons
