Yeah it's a bit strange. I'm surprised the Saudi club didn't just hand him a filled out release form and a ticket back to Australia after telling him his pay would cease immediately.

Maybe they decided to just kick the can down the road 6 months and push WSW to pay a transfer fee if he comes good again here.

I guess it's good for us. We get the Duke back at a discounted price. As far as I'm concerned, the addition of Duke and Mutch has given us what I believe the greatest first squad depth we've ever had.

Will be good to see what Mutch is capable of, hopefully he isn’t made of glass either as his last few years might suggest

With Ugarkovic coming into the team next season maybe the club think that Baccus will leave at seasons end with many overseas clubs watching him ATM especially if him and the team does well this season

Fingers crossed he stays until we are able to get a transfer fee off him at least lol

Unlikely, I was under the impression his contract runs out. Also don't really know how much someone would be willing to pay for him with a transfer.

If Bulut stayed the first time we would have as many trophies as Sydney FC do and he wouldn't be getting targeted by the Police.

That was his fault no one asked him to leave

Mustafa just picked up a Mazda in Penrith, according to his Instagram vid. Basically this of course confirmed his signing with us post injury recovery.

He posted in his story him driving away in the car and the number plates showing.

Not a smart thing to do if I was him.

Mack, was that a click-bait attempt?

Ah, the memories the word Bulut brings back!

“If Bulut”

had stayed away from certain people he could actually have gone to maccas without getting arrested

knew the offside rule

had been a team player

Hadnt fought NTS in the locker room

had shown up for training on time like everyone else

hadnt said one thing in the media and done the opposite on the pitch

had stayed away from cocaine

was a good football player

But maybe most importantly, if he had not scored that goal against the Smurfs in the smoke, in front of the RBB...

Water under the bridge.

What counts is that Duke is back.

I read somewhere that youngster Stefan Nikolic will be playing for Marconi Stallions. Is that on loan or he has signed to them?

Word is we released him.

Seems strange that we let him go over to Celtic after 3 years in our youth team, arranged a fee for his transfer/training compensation, had Covid cancel it, he comes back, we give him a 2 year scholarship deal and then Robinson turfs him. It's not like it'd even be that big of a monetary hit, and he would have been outside the squad cap and we could play him in NPL2.

Are you sure, where did you hear that?

He had an injury of some sort. I've seen him at multiple games and also noticed he was doing various community things with the first team only recently (1-2 weeks ago).

Marconi Stallions FC

Coach: Peter Tsekenis

Key signings: Chris Hatfield, Stefan Nikolic

Player To Watch: Marko Jesic

Rising Star: Paolo Laxamana

2020 finish: 7th

What to expect in 2021

After another season of what-if, Marconi Stallions will be desperate to finally deliver on their incredible potential this campaign.

Coach Peter Tsekenis is back on deck as Stallions head coach and once again will be trying to unlock the secret to consistent performances from his ultra-talented squad boosted with some quality young guns coming through the system.

Marconi signed strikers Chris Hatfield and Charles Lokolingoy this offseason however only Hatfield will don the club jersey this campaign after Lokolingoy was snapped up by A-League outfit Wellington Phoenix.

The former Sydney FC and Brisbane Roar striker was set for a key role this season but now the Stallions must plan for life without their star recruit.

Coming in as a late signing, young Western Sydney Wanderers gun Stefan Nikolic will also hope he can make an impression at the “Palace”.

Martin Fernandez was a breakout player last season and returns in 2021 along with the majority of the 2020 squad including Nenad Vekic, Mitch Mallia and Marko Jesic.

The Speranza brothers Giorgio and Roberto will also figure as go to players for stability as the club hope to revisit their glory days once more.

Consistency is the key for Marconi and if they can finally find a way to deliver consistent results than they could be the team to watch in 2021.

I don't understand why Robinson would allow him to leave.

Personally, I would of kept him and then if the team makes the top 6 at the end of the season, start resting the likes of Duke, Cox, Yeboah and Kamau so they are ready for the finals and give  Nikolic an opportunity in the senior squad.
