If we do lose Baccus and Kamau, I'd like to see us bring in 2 foreign strikers and a foreign attacking midfielder. Ibini and Yeboah off the bench, and if we don't resign Yeboah, then promote Auglah (as StringerBellend has suggested). Troisi can cover the three midfield positions (Dorrans, Ugarkovic and new AM) as needed. As good as Ziggy has been, I'd rather we replace him with a commanding foreign centre back, with Tass and Natta playing either side. If we could get a high quality Aussie attacking player in place of one of the 3 foreigners (e.g., Amini or D Petratos), then keep Ziggy as a right wingback.

All of that except Ziggy is never a wing back.  Given our shocking record of recruitment, we need to keep him as a CB.

I know I am a minority but if you look at stat McGowan isn't as bad as everyone implies on this site. Yes we have conceded 43 goals but as is common knowledge over half are from set pieces, meaning that in general play he is marshalling the defence.  From memory, I don't think he has conceded a single penalty or lost his marker at many of the set pieces which is actually more something of coaching anyway. A bigger issue in these has been the uncertainty of Margush. Yes he makes some awesome on field saves but he is often unsure at the set pieces

Well no matter how you put it the defence needs to be fixed because its now been a serious issue for a few seasons and no one has been able to find the answer. Part of it is to do formation but the other is defending set pieces. I think in the end half of all goals conceded this season were set pieces, some of the defending during corners was kid errors that professional footballers shouldn't be doing.

McGowan should be bossing the defence and he never ever seems to be near where a ball comes in from a set piece , we need better.

Margush has some excuses being age and inexperience but he cannot clear a ball from set pieces his punches rarely go much further than the penalty box line.

Against Adelaide he punched a ball from a set piece that landed at an adelaide players foot a few metres past the far post and it was Dorrans on the post the headed it away for another corner. Margush needs to do a lot of work in the off season on how he handles set pieces , his goalkeeping otherwise is very good for his age but he has to fix the set piece issues he has hopefully the goalkeeping coach spends a lot of time with him in the off season.

It's simple....McGowan isn't capable of marshalling a defence at the level we expect....needs replacing ASAP and maybe our other defenders  will look better.

I’d have hoped ziegler could do it but he had 2 decent games in season

gordan is a throw yourself at the ball type not an organiser

Then we have kids and an experienced keeper who needs to work on corners

An Alberto type in there and we’d have been, I believe the term is, Eetswa

instead we blow our last foreign spot on a midfielder to sit on the bench

so not all on McGowan other than gordan none of the experienced defenders stepped up

ziegler error prone

Georgevski great social media, lots of hand waving and stupid fouls (passion as the kids in Facebook would call it) but caught of position and too careless to track his man or at times trap a ball

There was a point where I thought that the "kids in Facebook" were his extended family !!

Tomer Hemed has apparently signed for another A-League club and is currently in Sydney on "vacation".

We would have to be a big chance if he's signing for a Sydney team. Apparently his missus spilled the beans on Instragram.

Possibly, however more likely ESFC....... too many Palestinians in Western Sydney.

One moment sums up McGowan for me. It was a midweek game against Brisbane (99% sure) and they had it out wide with Gordon across to shut down the cross. It left McGowan and Tas with one roar player each in the box. For some reason he pulled a carney and ran to the near post leaving his man with a free header (which luckily he missed) then had a go at Tas about who was supposed to be marking him.

I thought that Sheffield United had some sort of deal with the Mariners at one point

Correct, Sheffield United and Everton both have deals with Central Coast Mariners.

The Sheffield United/Central Coast partnership is an investment deal. Plus, Sheffield United  can go on loan players to be loaned to the Mariners (if required). Pretty sure in 2019, Sheffield United offloaded Stephen Mallon and Sam Graham.

The Everton partnership is a bit useless in my opinion, it's a player development one which allows Everton to utilise their under 21 players to be loaned to Mariners so it gives them the 'experience first team/senior squad football' while on loan at the Mariners.

Obviously biased as I am an Everton fan but surely that’s a good deal (although it hasn’t happened) take a promising Everton youth player and give him experience as a starting player, be good to have a pathway the other way too

This...

If it opened the door so that Everton were scouting players from the Mariners and allowing them to have the potential to be signed by them for then U21 squad (or even somehow for the senior squad), then I would say it's a great deal.

However, I feel a bit 50/50 on it as it can be a bit of a risk to give up a foreign spot (if they don't have an Australian citizenship) to someone that's 21 (or under) in the A-League. Then again, they could come to the A-League and just rip into shreds and help them eventually progress for a spot in Everton's senior squad.

Hugo Rodallega has been released from Turkish club Denizlispor.

FYI, the music is terrible:

Only issue is he is 35 and probably ready to hang up the boots. But, he did 14 goals this season. Oh...and to keep @Unlimited happy again...FIFA rating is 74.

Another player that could be a free agent soon is Mame Diouf, He was equal 2nd for the top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig with 19 goals.

And once again to keep @Unlimited happy, his FIFA rating is 71

See Andre Ayew has left Swansea and talking to clubs, reported today could be on his way to Celtic.

He would kill it in the A-League and unfortunately he would be asking for a big pay cheque.

He more likely signed for SFC rather Western Sydney Wanderers, more ***** in the club board room.

Have they had the awards night? Might not see some comings and going’s until after that night.

"Awards Night" you're ******* kidding, ........minus mediocre team of the year award, less than mediocre Coach of the year and his assistants. Oh, and of course the leakiest defence of the year award, a colander maybe.

And don't forget Owner, Captain and CEO of the year, where does one stop?
