SBW Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 So apparently, WSW have good fans but none of them sent her emails this week. Is that an invitation to send her an email because I know I am a "good" fan, in fact I am a good citizen. Problem is, anything I have to say will be the same as all the previous emails she has received. Here goes... I haven't sent RW an email as yet because I thought it would be a waste of time and energy on my behalf trying to get a point across to somebody who clearly does not want to hear it. But you know what, **** it. I'm a good fan and a good citizen as well. What she wrote is both legally and ethically wrong and I will let her know that in the most measured and respectful way possible. She will hear from me, somebody who has studied to become a journalist like herself and a lawyer as well. She will hear from somebody who respects the ethics and code of conduct of the industry - unlike her. I will let her know that excerpts of my letter sent to politicians and organisations during the police restrictions saga were published on the front page of the Parramatta Advertiser and I will continue to write these compelling letters to powerful people as long as she continues to write articles like these. I come from an organisation who spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on advertising in the Daily Telegraph every year. I will be CC'ing the editor of the paper in my email too, letting them know that I will be advocating to reduce our spend in the paper if articles like these continue to published. If you're reading this RW, expect my letter and thousands more like it from the good fans. I doubt you'll read them and I doubt even less you will acknowledge them, but they will not stop while you continue along this path. You're a hypocrite and a criminal, and as such have no right to comment on matters like these. Get over yourself Jess! That would be RBT Wilsons response after reading that when she's been proven wrong.

dmixtaaa Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Bozza and slater also going on about how the FFA need a proper appeals process. How ironic would it be if the upshot of Wilsons article is a better outcome for fans.? Thanks Rebecca , you improved our game !! she'd choke on her Xmas pud When we get, NOT IF, but WHEN we get our fair and transparent appeals process for all members who are banned. They would have to trudge down to the 1 Oxford St Darlinghurst to face an appeals tribunal. I think it's only fitting that we call the room where the appeal is held as, The Rebecca Wilson Appeals Tribunal. ptwsw, nmh94, Prydzopolis and 1 other 4
braad Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 (edited) So unfortunately a woman has died at Stereosonic and anothers in a coma. 70 people arrested. Thats more than a third of the HAL banned list. It is horrible news, but where's the outrage? This really annoys me, i love my EDM, and had one of the best days of my life @ Stereosonic in 2009, but the drug use and death statistics at these events are horrific. To me, this is a real issue, why arent there journalists trying to change the culture there? Why don't news channels run these storys with the same stubbornness they run anti-football stories? The only i remember (being reported and a fuss being made about) was about that girl who OD at harbourlife a year or two ago http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2015/11/29/woman-dies-stereosonic-festival Edited November 28, 2015 by braad Tigers, dcrow, wendybr and 7 others 10

She'll need noise cancelling headphones next time she bumps into Murray, Foster, Bozza, Hill. Talk about a public demolition. This probably belongs on the Unpopular Opinions Thread... and I doubt anything will come of my expressing this opinion. But here goes. Whilst I was joining in the anti RW sentiments even last night... with two posts specifically referring to her (one of which has just been reposted )... I think it might be time to lay off Ms Wilson. Watching her on... was it the Sky Sports show??... when she said she'd cried that day... touched me a little, because I don't image she does that all that often.. To do what she does in the world of sports journalism must have given her a very very tough skin. I emailed her yesterday in polite but a rather cold tone, telling her I never felt unsafe at A League games.... and suggesting that she should stick to NRL reporting. I was astonished to receive a reply from her saying she was glad that I felt safe at games (which was the main thrust of my email) and thanking me for my "constructive" opinions. In a rather sad tone, she added "if only a few more were like that" We all know that slinging metaphorical **** at people, even in retaliation at **** being slung at us first (which is absolutely what she did) only results in us all getting covered in ****. I sent her a second email, which I do now trust she will read even if she doesn't reply. I talked about my dad, a Pommie, who came to Australia as a 16 year old, and lived his whole life seeing the game he loved treated with disdain and disrespect by many in the media and in the wider community in this country. He died a bit before the A League started. I told her that she had lifted the lid on the same old feeling of frustration in the wider footballing community.... and the anger at seeing football yet again disrespected ....when some of that negativity had been slowly overcome thanks to the A League in general, and for us, WSW. Do I expect any reversals of direction in her approach by my telling her my story...... lol........ no. But so many of us have such powerful stories of what football means to us. I've read them here on numerous threads. They've brought a tear to my eyes some of them (haha admittedly not hard to do). Last one I remember was West 13's about his little baby and his dad. These stories need to keep being told... to each other , to the wider community.... and if you're contacting the media, or using social media, I've got a feeling that telling these stories, rather than slinging personal abuse, would be more likely to cut though.. Anyway.... I now see her as a person rather than as a target. She has to have been made to regret the article... and has to have suffered enough public humiliation by now, via having chants sung about mistakes she has made in the past etc. Believe me.... I've found them very amusing. No one likes hypocrites. But now I will find them far less amusing and appropriate than the numerous anti- FFA chant suggestions I've read here. I'll certainly join in any of those I hear this evening in Gosford! My 2 cents worth COYW!! Tigers, DinoPresinger, Victoryguy and 8 others 11

nmh94 Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Wendy ... I disagree that she has learnt her lesson and regrets the first article. She wrote one with just as much bile yesterday. She has merely changed tactics. Slandering the entire game didn't work, so she is moving to divide and conquer. She chucked in a line of praise for ESFC yesterday, hoping I guess that we (WSW and ESFC) would turn on each other instead of her. Zelinsky Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 @Wendy Sorry to burst your bubble. I spoke to a friend of mine who works for NewsCorp yesterday. He didn't have anything nice to say about RW, and reckons that she "might" get into trouble because of the article. At the same time it went past an editor, so at least it is a shared responsibility. He said that RW is part of the culture at the DT which doesn't shy away from controversy if it means $$$. They won't care about being sued, they have five lawyers to take care of things, and if they have to pay they just pay. Seems to be in the budget. However, a significant boycott of NewsCorp products as suggested by the Squadron, that is something that will get their attention. Smoggy, ptwsw, DCWSW and 7 others 10

She is what she is.... LOL ...maybe my issue is what disgust for her has brought out in us. Anyway...The boycott on News Corp products (well I guess it was the DT, which I have deliberately boycotted for years) was the first thing I suggested, and if it gets going, it will be another huge positive from this whole saga. If only it hadn't caused pain, humiliation and probably much worse to some of those "named and shamed", I think all of this will be for the best. It's brought to the surface something that has festered forever. Edinburgh 1
