An update from Scott Hudson will issue imminently.

Good progress with efforts continuing.

Dear Wanderers members and fans,

Following on from my letter earlier in the week, I wanted to provide an update on the incident at the Sydney Derby last Saturday night.

We have now met with senior representatives from NSW Police and Venues NSW to discuss issues around match day, as well as their response to our request in overturning several bans from our passionate active supporter group.

Following this meeting, we can confirm that three of the bans have been suspended by Venues NSW, while the two remaining bans will be subject to further review after written submissions are received.

As a further outcome, we have committed along with NSW Police and Venues NSW to ongoing discussions around all aspects of our match day operations, and we would like to acknowledge the constructive conversations that have taken place so far.

Whilst this is a step in the right direction, there is still a lot of work to be done in ensuring that our members and fans have a safe matchday experience.

Rest assured, we will continue to stand in solidarity with our members and fans on this issue.

We will provide further updates when we have more information to share.

Scott Hudson
Western Sydney Wanderers CEO

Three of five bans is a good start. The evidence must have been pretty strong to sort that out in under a week.

In an ideal world we wouldn't just be celebrating incorrect bans being overturned, but also seeing consequences for those who incorrectly issued the bans to innocent people.

The word in this line is "suspended" not overturned.....

Police accountability? Yeah, nah. That's not happening.

RBB still boycotting tonight then?

Until all bans considered and news on the outcome of all…would think the boycott would stand.

Its a start…but only a start.

While I agree this is only a start, am I correct in saying this is the most support the club has ever shown on this issue? That in itself is something positive. Not the end outcome, but a step forward nonetheless.

"suspended"  could just mean until it's reviewed again and could well be reinstated the minute the boycott stops or this stops being a news item.

Perhaps but was never going to happen in a week, especially with a short turnaround to Friday.  Just having vocal support from the Club is a plus for mine.  People who are not happy with that statement need to really think about what they are actually doing here, they are effectively getting people off bans given by police and/or stadium, FMD in the real world that would take 6-12 months at best.

I'm guessing 'suspended' would mean yea you are all good to go but don't find yourself in **** again, which to be fair is a pretty decent outcome.

For me, I am not in RBB and they can make their own mind up, but I wasn't going to turn up tonight, but you know what **** it, Club showing support of fans so will go, let's just hope the ******* players don't let us down this time.

What's going to happen with the Perth trip if it's not resolved next week?

They're still going

I walked past 2 of the navy uniformed cops and said “I wish you guys arrested me last week so I didn’t have to watch that”.

I got a smile and not tackled to the ground so that’s a plus.

Jokes on you, your name has probably been forwarded to Football Australia, the A-Leagues, the media, Paramount+ and Granville district Association so you can be banned from every type of Australian Football possible for indicating you may have passion for the game

Exactly. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good. We have to recognise when positive steps forward are being made even when they seem small. The club have never had our back in this way till now. That's positive. Whether it's progress remains to be seen. But how do you eat an elephant... one bite at a time.

His last comment is the thing that has the other codes scared of us.....hence I think the **** reporting and everything else that has gone on since.

I'm not crying you're crying......

What a legend.

Sign him up as our next coach. You can do better than Western United John.

Mr "Mark (Rudan) My Words" Lederer will admire his passion in this video, and then we'll end up with another western fraudsters coach. At least Aloisi has won an A League Championship though. But still wouldn't take him.
