While Scott Mcdonald may well prove to be an important acquisition at this stage of the Comp......when compared ie( goals for and against)  with Sydney fc with the same no of games played we have scored 5 more goals however, we have conceded 13 more, therein lies the problem and adding another striker baffles me somewhat.

Are you aware of any local quality defenders that are currently available and could help us?

No, that's not my job.....I would think that our Club has a number of very well paid coaching staff who should know.

Robinson: "Hmmm, the squad conceded 5 goals from a club that is coming last in the competition, I really need to do something that'll fix this"
Also Robinson: "LET SIGN A 37 YEAR OLD STRIKER!"
The fans:

You know, I always try and think about what could be the positive outcomes for this signing but unfortunately...I find...none.

If you find out a football player has left two clubs recently due to a mutual termination...you know something is suss. I did read somewhere that McDonald's attitude is bad and can act a bit cocky.

I got a feel that this was more of a "sympathy" signing in my opinion and that Robinson probably didn't want him to go to any other clubs. I understand McDonald can score some goals. But, there's already 5-7 forwards already signed to the senior squad. Plus, this doesn't help the terrible defence that the squad currently has as well.

Reuben Awaritefe.

He is a striker that plays for the Wanderers NPL squad. He signed to the club this season and was originally from the Mariners NPL squad.

Okay so I cheated a little.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s agent dropped the whole signing with city thing.

reality is his last 2 teams were happy to see the back of him what that means only time will tell.

he’s a committed footballer who can do good things - let’s see if that capacity remains

Running the risk of sounding like an arse here: the best paid coaching staff can’t find what isn’t out there.

We all know that we have a problem at the back and the front. It makes a lot of sense that the club is trying to do something about the front part. And yes, ideally someone like Spira would be in the country, match fit and all. But he isn’t.

i wonder by how much we missed signing Mcdonald 4 years ago when he left Motherwell and was still in his prime. Did our owners not offer enough not keen on getting a returning Socceroo into the A League? His statement just makes you wonder how many other marquees/returning socceroos we have missed out due to lack of funds, Ono still seems to be our best import and he was from before the takeover of the new owners!

We were close, one day away, but the parties involved could not finalise the deal before the transfer window closed. That’s my recollection.

I’m optimistically hoping that we are shifting out one of the foreign midfield/ forwards that we don’t use and getting in some sexual spanish Alberto style centre back

ok we aren’t but

I’ve got a positive vibe about McDonald I’m getting derby winner vibes

remember when we had like 20 CBs in the team? Those were the days!

This is just balancing now

we have 5 as it is we have two problems

2 of the experienced ones have been terrible

our stubborn manager insists on playing 3 centre backs

Hoping all this desperation for olyroos/socceroos replacements in the league gives us the chance to do a few more mutual terminations of unused players.
Ziegler and Muller (who I love but is no good to us if CR doesn't want to use him) next.

A chance of playing more games for them than he did for us this season. Also has more chance of playing finals...how bizarre.

He'll be a catalyst in their annual choke :xnod:
