wswnick
https://thewomensgame.com/news/womens-football-poverty-forcing-coaches-to-walk-away-564978 "Western Sydney Wanderers have recently lost respected head coach Dean Heffernan from its W-League program, while his assistant Michael Beauchamp has also moved on. It is uncertain what will happen with the other assistant Catherine Cannuli and goalkeeping coach Ante Covic. Between the four of them, they were paid around $65,000 according to insiders. While the W-League season only lasts around four months, a coach's role goes well beyond that when you factor in scouting and preparation. The Wanderers aren't the only club facing this dilemma. Other clubs have similar issues with coaches, with a number considering walking away so they can make a decent living elsewhere and provide for their families." wendybr, sonar and EmMac 3 Link to comment

Oh and lets not forget the fact that the supporter base continues to shrink including the RBB (total respect to those left standing despite all the crap) Other than a few of the young lads from the academy breaking into the first team I cannot see much else that the club could possibly claim as a positive this season. Hughesy
Sydney make their 3rd GF in a row after one of their poorest overall squads/seasons of the last 4 seasons. If that doesn’t provide a sad picture of where things are at, then not much else will. matty, wendybr, StringerBellend and 4 others 7 Link to comment

MathyouWSW
Yeah, if Sydney FC didn't have Bobo and/or Le Fondre, they would be f*cked. Barbarouses, Ivanovic and Buhagiar wasn't going to get them the same goals equivalent to Bobo and Le Fondre. Personally, what Sydney FC have done this season almost feels identical to the same season they won against Perth Glory in the finals. They brought in Reza Ghoochannejhad and relied on him and Le Fondre to get the goals and success to the finals. It's just Glory were sh*t at penalties that made them lose the final. Link to comment

But they still coasted to 2nd and are a good chance to win the GF. When Fox bang on about this being the highest standard ever, its a load of rubbish. There are 2 good sides this year, plus an ok one in adelaide. The rest are very average. Which is why CR should be out, for finishing behind the likes of Mariners, Roar etc. Link to comment

If they didn't get Bobo early this season I think they would have been fighting for the 6 or dropped out entirely cause they were relying on Barbarouses to get goals and he wasn't gonna get them there they saw that and fixed the problem asap.
