"Western Sydney Wanderers have recently lost respected head coach Dean Heffernan from its W-League program, while his assistant Michael Beauchamp has also moved on. It is uncertain what will happen with the other assistant Catherine Cannuli and goalkeeping coach Ante Covic.

Between the four of them, they were paid around $65,000 according to insiders. While the W-League season only lasts around four months, a coach's role goes well beyond that when you factor in scouting and preparation.

The Wanderers aren't the only club facing this dilemma. Other clubs have similar issues with coaches, with a number considering walking away so they can make a decent living elsewhere and provide for their families."

Another season over another season of high achievements

3rd best team in Sydney (3/3)

4th best team in  NSW (4/5)

4th season in a row finish out of the top 6.

Oh and lets not forget the fact that the supporter base  continues to shrink including the RBB (total respect to those left standing despite all the crap)

Other than a few of the young lads from the academy breaking into the first team I cannot see much else that the club could possibly claim as a positive this season.

I Challenge the spin doctors at  the Club to  paint a rosy picture from this seasons shambles.

When you say highest attendance do you mean only for Sydney teams? The Nux had the two highest attendances in the comp this season.

I think he means overall and on average.

Ha!

Imagine for a sec we were actually decent and finished top 2, our average would be comfortably above 10k, perhaps even 12k to 14k. We would have boosted finals football interest also...

As for ESFC, they have done well on the pitch but have not grown in support at all.

20/21 - 45 (+2 diff) ... highest total

Funny thing is you’d hardly call us a cohesive attacking side.

Sydney make their 3rd GF in a row after one of their poorest overall squads/seasons of the last 4 seasons.

Following the return of Bobo and Le Fondre I'm not sure that you can really say that Sydney have a poor squad......I mean which of their starting XI at full strength would not get a place in a Wanderers line-up?

Key word being ‘overall’. Until about 4-5 weeks ago, they were having a very mediocre season by their standards.

Yeah, if Sydney FC didn't have Bobo and/or Le Fondre, they would be f*cked.

Barbarouses, Ivanovic and Buhagiar wasn't going to get them the same goals equivalent to Bobo and Le Fondre.

Personally, what Sydney FC have done this season almost feels identical to the same season they won against Perth Glory in the finals. They brought in Reza Ghoochannejhad and relied on him and Le Fondre to get the goals and success to the finals.

It's just Glory were sh*t at penalties that made them lose the final.

I agree relatively this isn't a great Sydney side, their key players are a year older (and not better for it).

But they still coasted to 2nd and are a good chance to win the GF. When Fox bang on about this being the highest standard ever, its a load of rubbish. There are 2 good sides this year, plus an ok one in adelaide. The rest are very average. Which is why CR should be out, for finishing behind the likes of Mariners, Roar etc.

WSW miss their 4th straight finals series with one of our strongest squads of the last 4 seasons.

If that doesn’t provide a sad picture of where things are at, then not much else will.

If they didn't get Bobo early this season I think they would have been fighting for the 6 or dropped out entirely cause they were relying on Barbarouses to get goals and he wasn't gonna get them there they saw that and fixed the problem asap.
