I swear the knee slide the other year and all that carry on is the reason he got the job and why half of twitter seem to think he deserves to stay with his “own” team.

Oh look he runs around, doing fist pumps, he talks about philosophy in a Spanish accent he must know what he is doing.

Foxe got slaughtered by the same people for drawing too much and playing his subs a bit late.

(Not that I want foxe)

Unfortunately for foxe he doesn’t have a cool accent

Ummmmm...there are cool Spanish accents....and then there is Josep!

I cannot actually see his Spanish accent as being one of his endearing qualities tbh....and he does have them.

I can hardly understand a word he mumbles.

WSW in 7th heaven - that post mortem should be fun.

Last year 30 points gap to the Smurfs, 35:35 goals, 36 points.
This year 31 points gap. 39:47, 33 points.
Even in our dreadful S3 we only conceded 44 goals.

It's blatantly obvious that he weakened the defense, and it cost the club, the team, and probably Gombau personally. It's an achievement in itself that, with a goal scorer like Riera, we didn't make the top three. Sure, Popa's departure ripped the guts out of club and team. But instead of consolidating, Gombau moved in with the wrecking ball.

Gombau said one thing early November (fine tuning, playing a more attacking style) but did the total opposite - changing everything. And then, in his press conference yesterday, he was talking like Mourinho, as if the current mess has nothing to do with him. Amazing.

The very player he promoted to the starting XI ( Baby Baccus) copped two red cards this season. It fits that With the second one he just about killed off Gombau's already very modest season goal.

Gombau out. He is a dud. If there is meant to be another clean out then it may as well be overseen by a manager who knows what his is doing.

The club would have known all of this. They have seen what gumby does, they would (should) have had these discussions before hiring surely....

Sounds like we should have poached Kenny Lowe. All the lads love him, he parks the bus and gets it into the mixer, none of this pesky philosophy to worry about, just a competitive team who give 110% on the pitch and in the post training drinking sessions.

Would have taken Lowe over gumby 100%.

Wasn't gombau a 3rd choice option? Lederer was too tight to sign an experienced German coach?

You guys know right Lowe has no coaching credentials what he came from the ntc team to the a league you know the only reason he is still there is because tony sage doesn't want to spend the money for a good coach Lowe still there because he is cheap sage don't have to spend a cent on him. When I went to Perth to play that **** Lowe was still in charge of ntc glory team in npl and the **** is hated by all glory fans they want him gone plus if we had Lowe he would do **** all with us Lowe is a **** and this is coming from someone who has mates who live in Perth pretty much want Lowe out but sage never listens

he has done a decent jobs with a lot cheaper squads than what we ran out there this year. If you looked at league position vs spending they would be doing pretty well over his 4 years.

he plays pragmatic football that suits his players.

he has struck gold a couple of times with his recruitment (keogh & castro)

he doesn't talk nonsense in the media - he says it how it is.

not saying he would be my choice to take over but given the choice between him and gumby.....

Lowe had a UEFA A licence when he was appointed interim head coach at Glory in 2013 and was doing his Pro licence at the time.

Who gives a toss about Lowe? That’s Perth’s problem that they keep a **** manager.

We should be aiming higher than  Perth or central coast or Wellington

Who cares that they choose to hire and keep crap managers that’s for them

if we are the club that we say we are then we should be getting the best manager.

7th a couple of points off 6th might be fine if you are okon at mariners with Blake Powell as your strike force but we aren’t

Lets face Adelaide put us out of our misery because we would have lost first game in the finals 3-0.

To summarise this season we had a good team (it really was on paper) and it only hit its potential in the first game of the season. At first it was just a case of bombing out in the second half that cost us points (1st derby and 1st Central Coast game this season are prime examples) but then once Gombau came in we never got going. Wildy inconsistent the whole season we never really looked good at any point this season. As everyone has said before its a failure on all levels of the club (players, Management, CEOs) especially with money and time invested.

Bright side.... Only one more season of souless but there needs to be improvement on and off the field as I do worry by the time we go back to Parra the club will be a shell of itself.

Doesn't mean anything now days you can go to any club and coach without a license, that's how ****ed up the system is in Australia because everyone wants to be the next Messi or they have mates who know a mate. In Brazil if you want to coach a team that plays in local league you need to have a license or just coach a futsal team

The A-League and NPL have minimum coaching licence qualification requirements.

When does "WSW Failure: The John Tsatsimas years."  thread open?

This absolute bellend needs to go.  His stewardship.  His responsibility.  His abject failure.

It's been a long day at work. I cracked up at bellend. Thank you. :cheeky:

They say that’s the minimum penalty for violent conduct, but didn’t Barbarouses get one week for his stomp against us?

Barbarouses got his red card for "serious unsporting conduct". Baccus got his for "violent conduct".

Apparently because Baccus was lying on the ground his was violent conduct but Barbarouses standing around before a penalty and deciding to stomp on Baccus wasn't violent, just unsporting.
