Phil micallef.. that bloke cant resist a crack even when trying to write something nice...

"The Wanderers' support can be a bit samey at times and rather monotone, resembling a concert atmosphere rather than a football match ... but not this time."

Not sure what concerts he goes to.

One of the reasons I love the South American style is that it IS like a concert. We sort of have a set list, but can change it up depending on what happens on the pitch.

Jane-Ellen Graham No actually, we're looking for enthusiastic wanderers supporters for a segment - we're sending out our support to your team ahead of the grand final....But we're looking for fun, genuine supporters who love their team with a passion and represent them well...... If you both happen to know anyone, that would be great... From the sounds of it, you aren't what we're looking for but thanks so much for your lovely comments.

Sue Finnerty Jane-Ellen Graham how many A League packages have you put together in the past 10 years? We barely get a mention. It's all NRL and AFL. Sorry to sound so cynical but that's how it's been. Our League has had to fight every step of the way.

René Silva Jane-Ellen Graham just because we are sceptical about your proposition doesn't make us non fun or non genuine supporters, on the contrary we are just protecting the sport and the team we love so much.. And yes my house, family cars, pets, desk at work are all dressed in red and black!

Jane-Ellen Graham That's great.. but we've already found a lovely family who are massive wanderer fans and will be on our show - your club's PR were very helpful. The media aren't out to get wanderer fans, your fans (a minority) unfortunately make their own headlines. Have a great week!

SALTY

It will be all images of kids shouting 'Go Wanderers' leading upto Sunday in the MSM. Feel good stories etc and then by Tuesday next week we will back to being an irrelevance to them. Nothing changes ultimately.

Unless we rip flares. Then we will be troublemakers, and then we will go back to being an irrelevance. Yep, nothing changes.

And its not an orchestra or a jazz recital or a prog extravaganza where you're supposed to sit down, shut up and appreciate the genius of the gods above you either.

It's party time second line let yourself go unity music...

Thoughts on the above Wanderpeeps???

Yes and no.

Combination of missing a few games with the Socceroos (can also argue that if that's the case then he should be good enough to make up those lost points... or we stop for FIFA breaks), but also he often had to share the limelight with Bruno. Easier to be a standout when you're at Perth and don't have the golden boot winner in the team.

A-League grand final 2016: Western Sydney Wanderers midfielder Mitch Nichols facing possible suspension for offensive gesture

Wanderers comeback to win 5-4

Western Sydney Wanderers beat Brisbane Roar 5-4 after being 3 goals down in an A-League semi-final thriller.

Western Sydney Wanderers are at risk of playing the grand final without their second top scorer with Mitch Nichols facing a possible suspension for making offensive gestures towards rival fans.

Fairfax Media can reveal Football Federation Australia is investigating a post-game incident involving Nichols taunting fans of his former club, Brisbane Roar, after the Wanderers' 5-4 semi-final win on Sunday.

Immediately after the final whistle at the end of extra-time, the Wanderers midfielder raced towards a small contingent of supporters of his former club, taunting them by making a two-fingered offensive gesture and blowing kisses towards his former fans.

The 27-year-old may come to regret his actions after Brisbane Roar submitted a complaint to the FFA, which has since launched an investigation into the matter ahead of Sunday's grand final between the Wanderers and Adelaide United.

It is understood Nichols will be forced to explain himself to the FFA this week and may still face potential sanctions, including a possible suspension, if found guilty for inciting rival fans and breaching the national code of conduct.

The Wanderers have declined to comment on the matter.

"FFA is considering reports on the incident involving Mitch Nicholls immediately after the semi-final," an FFA spokesperson said. "The matter remains under investigation."

Brisbane Roar confirmed they reported the incident on behalf of their fans and players to the FFA, which has not ruled out forwarding the case to the disciplinary committee. The Roar were furious with the conduct of their former long-serving player. In a post-match interview, Roar defender Corey Brown told reporters that he asked Nichols to stop his tirade while on the field.

"The club is very disappointed to see the image of a former championship player and the actions he took towards our supporters. We believe the investigation is being conducted by the FFA into the matter and we will await the outcome of that investigation," Roar chief executive David Pourre said. "From a professional athlete and player across the A-League and knowing that it has a far-reaching broadcast, it's very disappointing to see that type of behaviour and it's unacceptable."

Brisbane Roar players were incensed with Nichols' action, in particular that he ran more than 50 metres out of his way over towards their supporters to insult them, having not been on the field at the sound of the final whistle.

Nichols was substituted at the end of 90 minutes and played no part in the extra-time drama. A photo shows the midfielder raising his fingers at Brisbane fans shortly after leaping from the substitutes bench after full-time and continuing to do so until in close proximity of the away bay.

Nichols was wearing an orange substitutes bib and had already removed his playing jersey.

"There's an issue there and he needs to address it because it's not what we want to see in the competition, people acting in that behaviour, it's unacceptable," Pourre said.

Nichols played 125 league games for Brisbane Roar between 2007 and 2013 before moving to Melbourne Victory, much to the angst of some supporters. He has been in superb form for Western Sydney Wanderers this season, having scored 10 goals from midfield, leading the club to their third grand final in four seasons.

There is yet to be a player suspended for bringing the game into disrepute in the A-League, though Melbourne Victory striker Besart Berisha was reprimanded for an incident last year. Berisha narrowly escaped a suspension after a crude gesture towards Sydney FC fans after a 3-3 draw.

It is not yet known whether Berisha's incident in February 2015 will serve as precedent for Nichols, who ran across the length of the field to offend rival supporters.

Very valid points there Gazmon but this way it is always going to go to a foreign Marquee. If Mooy wasn't the stand out player of the league this year then I will eat my bucket hat...  :ninja:

Perhaps an average point score can go to players missing out being called up to represent their country and I'm not counting friendlies though.
