IMO, yes to Yeboah and Ziegler (both useless and one old), => => => EXIT

however Kamau could still flourish under CR if getting regular game time.

CR might be playing that game, most tactical coaches would have a few formations up there sleeve (depending on the players on hand).. Change things up when needed but he seems to be liking this formation ATM

I would love to see us go to 4 at the back and think with all the attacking options we have, it suits our squad the best, but that 5-3-2 formation is one thing I'm pretty sure Robbo is locked in on.

We legitimately have cover in every single position. Our "B Team" is stronger than some of the teams we've trotted out over the last few years.

ok controversial opinions:

1) I like our current formation. Aquillana and Russell are getting better and better as high-playing wing backs.

2) I don’t think Troisi is bad as everyone says. I reckon he is better starting than Muller with Muller on as an impact player. He is great but I think his body is starting to fail so we need to manage him carefully.

3) I’m not sure McGowan comes straight back in the team after injury. I think Tass is already better than him.

CR said at the beginning we would start slow and ramp it up as the season progresses.

I have to say is this the best squad in terms of depth we have had.?

Smart move to bring back Duke. Knows a lot of the players so adjustment time will be minimal.

Just annoying that we will still need to wait for Duke to do the quarantine. I think he is leaving Saudi today so were 2 weeks out from Duke to be even on the bench, won't be enough time to be fit be in the 11 immediately

I'm happy to rotate Troisi, Muller, Cox, Mutch (even Duke) based on fitness and form, but Tass/Natta are way better than McGowan/Zeigler.

I will forgive umpteen (no pun intended) mistakes from the kids (and that also includes Wilmering, Aquilina, Russel and Baccus), but not from allegedly professionals (internationals and/or Socceroo)

Interesting to note Duke's wife will be staying in the UK, not coming here. Her insta specifically says she won't see him till April

Travel and quarantine with a newborn (and another child) would be almost impossible. You need a support network which she obviously has in the UK.

Yeah, the observation was more directed at comments that Duke decided to come back to be with his family again. Seems it's just a football decision.

I have to admit when I got the “text” from Duke I thought I had been scammed or targeted for a scam

I am glad he’s coming back, not just because some of our attacking options this year have been crap but because I don’t think he should’ve left at all last season so it’s a nice bit of continuity

C R  made a very big mistake that cost the team two points when he replaced Tass with Ziegler.

Didn't he get a goal off the bench just days after arriving here from Japan last time? Covid quarantine will probably prevent him from hitting the ground running this time around though.

I think some are judging McGowan pretty harshly; based on last year's form I guess. This year he hasn't put a foot wrong, and at this point in time is a safer option than both Tass and Natta. I would not be leaving him out of the starting lineup if fit.

This is very true.

Duke scored seconds into a game against Newcastle when we lost like 5-1 or something.

Mcgowan has been great this season and is being unfairly judged, he was poor last season but seemed like he was going well under Robinson until getting injured (and playing through it) in the derby.
